If these reports are realistic, we already are. And for a bit more info on the Hoffenheim connection, the German side has a link with the USL's Vancouver Whitecaps and Gyau and Renken should spend some time there as well. I'm not sure if I am as excited with this move now with that knowledge.
An update on Carlos Martinez, courtesy of No Short Corners, who read it from Ives: I'd like to see more Americans going south, rather than east, so this excites me. If he could catch on with Boca Juniors, that would be huge.
Here's an article on Sebastian Lletget, which I am adding to the first post. It updates Lletget's progress with the West Ham U-18. It focuses a lot on an interview with Mike Leigh, one of West Ham's top scouts. Here's my personal favorite quote: "According to Leigh, West Ham super scout Jimmy Hampson once told him that Lletget is the best 14-year-old to ever play for the famed club. Keep in mind, West Ham has developed, among others, Frank Lampard and Joe Cole." It also adds that Gianfranco Zola really likes him and could give him a start before the end of the year. This would be huge for the 17-year-old. It also adds that he's being mentored by Jonathan Spector, which should aid his development and comfort level (and keep him in line for the US, rather than Italy or Argentina).
I'm not really sure what to do with that statement Ronan. I thought only Arsenal could bring out such a reaction in you?
