Sir Donald Bradman's Test cricket batting average of 99.94, to put that into context today's top bastmen average around 50.
I know for a fact Rider played that one Boston game (where he came out of the locker room late and didn't warm up) totally baked. Airballed his first three shots or something like that. I remember thinking at the time he was drunk, not really knowing what stoned was.
My grandfather, who grew up playing baseball every day with Joe DiMaggio, believes his 56 game hit streak will never be broken. Its a fuggin tough one, but more realistic than some of the other feats mentioned already in this thread.
Bobby Jones Grand Slam in golf in 1934. Tiger was close, but even at his peak he couldn't do it (nor Jack, nor Hogan, nor Player and so on and so on . . .)
Mario Lemieux's 13 shorthanded goals in one season. No player has come close. Also Lemieux scored eight points and became the only player in NHL history to score a goal in all five possible game situations in the same game: even-strength, power-play, shorthanded, penalty shot, and empty-net.
Martin Brodeur's records Most career wins, breaking Patrick Roy's record of 551.[47][48] Most playoff shutouts 24, breaking Patrick Roy's record of 23. Most minutes played, breaking Patrick Roy's record of 60,235 minutes. Most games played, surpassing Patrick Roy's record of 1,029.[49] Most regular-season shutouts, breaking Terry Sawchuk's record of 103.
Denny, what's the record for posts on S2? Whatever it is, I'm goin for it! Sent from HCPs Baller-Ass iPhone 5...FAMS!
Roger Maris, 61 Home Runs, without juice. It's been 50+ years and nobody's come close. I don't think new sports records carry any real meaning today other than how pervasive cheating can ruin something irreparably.
I think Ken Griffey Jr's two years at 56 home runs are probably the last "legit" home run record there is (clean wise). Although maybe Ryan Howard, not sure.
Emmit smiths all time rushing record od 18355 seems about as untouchable as they come. The career span a RB would have to have to break it seems almost impossible in the NFL now. AP, who is the person people bring up that have a shot, isnt even at 9, 000 rushing yards yet and he is 28. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
