I just saw this posted on Fox News. link

It looks like the 2 million number was inflated. "Inflated by who?" you ask? We'll have to start another thread blaming the Democrats and Republicans to do that.

Did you see the pictures of the demonstration? That was a MASSIVE amount of people. Haven't seen a crowd that big in Washington for a long time.

blah blah blah whine whine whine

I remember protesting Bush so many fucking times, walking by storm troopers, smelling tear gas.

You know what it accomplished? Fucking nothing.

    Guess what this will accomplish.

Why is it that everyone who doesn't fully support Obama's ideas are racist?

I think these people have had enough with over taxation (IMHO), big government and the national debt that seems to have finally mushroomed to the point that at some point in time in the near future the US government will become insolvent. They certainly have a right to their opinion and to demonstrate. I understand the lefties don't feel they have those rights, but they do. I think we're seeing the beginning of a large group of people fed up with the way the feds (both left & right) governs.

I agree, there were a lot of people but from reports I've read the numbers top out at 100k max.

I'd say the last time a crowd at least a big as that amassed in D.C. was for the Obama inauguration.

And nobody cares, just like when over 20 million took to the streets to protest the war in Iraq. So when 10 times the people came out to fight the other Hitler aka Bush nobody cared. So I will simply do what the conservatives did, why are all these unemployed people out there wasting time, they should be looking for jobs.

The day of the Million Man March was pretty funny in DC. Most people took the day off from work, so the Metro was empty. And a whole bunch of women at my work left early to get laid.

As many as 2 million protesters attend 9/12 Washington, D.C. Tea Party Rally

Saturday's "Tea Party" rally in Washington, D.C. far exceeded almost all expectations. Local police agencies estimated around 1.2 million people attended the rally, but several news outlets, including ABC and Fox News, said the crowd was nearly double that, with an estimated 2 million people in attendance.

It's amazing how acceptable outrageous lies are these days.

Here is ABC News' response to this story.

    link

It's also amazing how many people accept lies as facts without giving even the barest minimum of thought to whether the claim is plausible.

Neither of those is a picture of 1.5M people. Presumably neither shows every person in attendance, either, so I don't think the pictures prove anything.

How do I know that isn't 1.5M people? That photo is, on my screen, 12 square inches. If there were 1.5M people, that works out to an average of 125,000 people per square inch. However, my monitor has only about 10,000 pixels per square inch. Thus there should be 12.5 people per pixel in the photograph. Yet I can distinguish individuals in the photo.
