They didn't specify how much playing time (if any) he should get right? He could just "suit up" for the Nets and sit on the bench ala Magloire.

Maybe at first to stay face.

How would the league even enforce this? Would they send an official to all the Nets practices and meetings? If they do that for us, they better do the same for the Grizzlies.
    </div>

Community Service? Sure the league will make him do his share of that though.

    That would be fine.

Did the Mavericks forget to update their phone lists?

Why do they keep trading players without knowing if they are willing to be traded?

Agreed, pretty stupid... then again, they don't have much choice, OR much time...

The greatest thing that could ever, ever happen in my wildest dreams is that somehow the new Nets click on all cylinders and come out of the weak East and they catch a break and beat the West in the Finals - preferably Dallas.

KVH would get a ring, Kidd would get nothing, and the good guys would come out on top.

Think it's impossible? I'm a Giants fan. I believe anything is possible.

Are the Nets cursed? Or does everyone just hate us?

It's not impossible at all. Vince would have to go absolutely nuts, though.

I actually would just like to see Dallas miss the playoffs, which is much more likely . . ..

Maybe it's a ploy to get more money? They can sign KVH for more than 4M. I think that amount is the min to make the numbers work.

I think he'll do this. All he has to do is go to practice for a month and sit on the IR. He doesn't even have to play a minute if he doesn't want to. And for a pro-rated $4mil, I'd get off my ass and do it in a heartbeat.

If that was the case, it'd be ridiculous. 4 million to do nothing, and you still aren't happy? Are you f***ing kidding me?

    1) It's not a prorated 4M. They are offering to pay him the whole 4M for a month of work.

    2) Not sure how the league can monitor if he is at practice. I think that he would need to sit on the bench, and complete his share of the community service the league puts all players through, nothing more unless he wanted to.

more importantly, what is the remedy if he doesn't show up? Does the league void the trade two weeks from now? Fine KVH?

If he doesn't do this, he is crazy. I mean even if he does not want the money, which I doubt, he could donate it to charity.

Well, a flat $4mil is even more incentive to do this. I mean honestly, if he doesn't, he's dumb. He doesn't have to do much and gets to take home a fat paycheck. Anyone in the right mind would do this, even if they are "retired".
