    Chris Weidman-Jesse Bongfeldt deal set

    Undefeated middleweight prospect Chris Weidman(Above) on Tuesday agreed to face Jesse Bongfeldt(Below) at UFC 131 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

    The bout is scheduled to take place on June 11 at Rogers Arena. Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will battle Junior dos Santos in the main event.

    Weidman (5-0-0) was offered the fight with Bongfeldt after Court McGee withdrew due to a torn ACL. McGee, who won 'The Ultimate Fighter' Season 11 championship, was injured in training camp.

    Tyson Griffin drops class for June 26 tilt

    Former UFC lightweight Tyson Griffin will drop to the featherweight division to meet Manny Gamburyan(Below) on June 26.

    The featherweight fight will be part of the UFC on Versus 4 event, expected to take place at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh. UFC officials announced the matchup on its website Tuesday.

    "Highly ranked Manvel Gamburyan and the always-exciting Tyson Griffin have verbally agreed to face one another June 26," said UFC president Dana White in the report.

    Griffin (14-5) has previously expressed interest in dropping weight. The former lightweight contender hasn't won since a second-round TKO victory over Hermes Franca at UFC 103 in September 2009.

    Royce Gracie is campaigning for an opportunity to return to the Octagon at the Rio event. He has supposedly dropped out of some personal appearances/camps in order to get into training mode. No word on whether the UFC is interested in setting up a super-fight with him but it still seems unlikely at this stage.

    Rumour floating around that Shogun will face a 'surprise opponent' at the show.

    UFC to make Pittsburgh debut

    UFC will make its Pittsburgh debut on June 26, the promotion announced on Wednesday.

    The event (UFC on Versus 4) will be held at Consol Energy Center, which is home to the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins.

    Matches for the event are still being negotiated, but White revealed that former lightweight Tyson Griffin is slated to make his initial appearance as a featherweight inside the Octagon.

    "Highly ranked Manvel Gamburyan and the always-exciting Tyson Griffin have verbally agreed to face one another June 26," UFC president Dana White said on the promotion's website.

    Erik Koch to fight Cub Swanson

    Featherweight Erik Koch will look to extend his winning streak to four on July 2 when he meets veteran Cub Swanson, UFC president Dana White announced Wednesday.

    "Rising star Erik Koch(Above), who took home Fight of the Night honors at the stacked UFC 128 event, will take on Cub Swanson(Below), who earned Fight of the Night honors in his last fight," White said Tuesday night.

    Koch and Swanson will meet at UFC 132 in Las Vegas. In the main event, bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz defends his belt against former WEC titleholder Urijah Faber.

    In his most recent fight, Koch knocked out Raphael Assuncao in the first round to improve to 12-1-0. That bout took place last month in Newark, N.J.

    BJ Penn won't fight at UFC 132. Dunno if it is because he only wants to fight Fitch or if he wants extra time off.
