    UFC 172 will be in Mexico with Velasquez vs. Werdum as the headliner. Werdum speaks better Spanish than Velasquez (Werdum's mother is from Spain).

    UFC officials today announced that Jones (19-1 MMA, 13-1 UFC) vs. Teixeira (22-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) will headline UFC 170, which takes place Feb. 22 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. No other matchups have yet been revealed the card.

    With Cain also possibly going towards surgery and Cruz maybe/maybe not returning early next year that's three champions on the shelf. Sucks.

    Jon Jones will not fight Glover Teixeira at UFC 170. 169 didn't work for him either. Dana White didn't elaborate. Funny business going on with Jones at the moment. This isn't the first time...

    All White will say is that Jones "wasn't available" for their chosen date(s). Jones' title defence will be pushed back again and it's looking like it will be in the springtime (March-April). Gustafsson faces Manuwa on March 8th which means a March or April title fight would line up the next title fight pretty well with neither fighter having an advantage in terms of training time.

    Anthony Pettis will have surgery next month and could be out until the third or fourth quarter of 2014, which absolutely sucks but if he comes back healed and has a lengthy spell of good health it'll be well worth it.

    Jon Jones told the UFC he wasn't ready to fight again so his 2/2 bout with Tex was postponed. Said he hasn't recovered from the Gus fight.
