    Jon Jones is sore and having a hard time getting into full contact training. His foot is "crunchy and crackly" and his eye is soft. Can't really begrudge him if he wants a longer gap between fights given that he's been reasonably active defending his title.

    Jones has opened as a 2.5-to-1 dog against Velasquez according to bet online. I would imagine he'd be the favourite if the odds came out before the Gusto fight.

    No way JJ would have been the favorite over Cain, even before the Gusto fight. I just don't believe that. Cain is the bigger fighter and his wrestling is arguably better. I think Jones would have been the dog either way, he is the one who would be moving up a weight class.

    As for Jones wanting time off, I don't blame him honestly. He took a beating in his last fight (I still believe Gustaffson won) and still doesn't seem fully recovered from his foot injury. He has done enough to warrant a lengthy time off.

    UFC 171 in Dallas in March is when the UFC hopes to have Jones and Teixeira fighting. I think they were hoping to have the GSP/Hendricks rematch instead.

    Anthony Pettis expected to miss 6-8 months following knee surgery. He's now had both knees reconstructed to some degree. Not good for a pro athlete.

    Holly Holm (now 6-0) reportedly turned down Zuffa's first offer to her to fight in the UFC. Holm picked up a win this weekend over journeywoman Angela Hayes (6-7).

    The UFC signed pretty much all of the strawweights from Invicta including the champion and will have them competing on the next iteration of TUF (20), which sounds like it will be another split cast.
