What is fair market value for Lin? I was thinking about him earlier today. He is a decent backup. But only deserves back up pay. He might prefer Dallas in terms of minutes. But after being in New York, Houston, and LA....he might prefer a smaller market. The media and fans (and some players) have been brutal to him in the last two stops.
I think the plan is that McCollum can handle the ball sometimes. Most likely the main rotation will be something like Lillard/Henderson - McCollum comes in for Henderson - when Lillard needs a break it will be McCollum/Henderson.
It'd be nice if he'd prefer a smaller market like Portland, but I have to assume he would want to join the Mavs since they will be a playoff team, while we look lottery-bound. If we want him, we may have to overpay him. And even then, I don't think money is a concern for him. I remember reading that he turned down a lot of endorsement deals during the Linsanity craze. So if we really do want him, we would have to do some persuading. Olshey and maybe Dame would need to step up.
Yeah, that's probably the plan. However, we still need another guard or 2 to balance our roster, especially a true back-up point guard. Injuries are a part of the game, and that necessitates having multiple back-ups. So the Blazers should definitely look at younger guards like Lin, Corey Joseph and/or KJ McDaniels.
Dallas will be better than Portland next year, but I am not so sure they will be a playoff team either.
Yeah, you're right. They're not a lock for the playoffs, but they have Jordan, Dirk, Parsons, and of course our beloved Iron Man. That's a very solid 4 there, depending on Wes' health, I guess.
To be honest I forgot about Wes. To me Dirk is the big question mark at 37. Lot of Mileage for 37 too. I just do not see where they are going to get their offense without Monta.
How about Datome, not a great defender but the guy's definitely got some offensive skills. http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/2585629/luigi-datome
SA pulled their qualifying offer for Cory Joseph (think that makes him an UFA now?) http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/6446/cory-joseph
