The new young Gun President is a communications guy, maybe he is putting his signature on the broadcasting part of his duties or being receptive to one old TV guy and a new family man, presenting the idea?

Doesn’t this kinda make it like a pay cut already?

Probably why Amara left the Blazers to go work in LA so she could still travel with a team.

I thought she went to work for Lebron's own company, not the Lakers? Seemed like Casey mentioned it on his last podcast with Brooke

Oh you could be right but also could have decided to do that after hearing that the social media team wasn't traveling with the team either.

I think she's from Los Angeles as well, so it's a homecoming for her. Lebron's company is global so she'll probably travel but the media market in LA is huge...she'll have plenty going on right there I'm sure.

No @THE HCP ? I want to know if this is impacting you financially in any way. If it's not, I'm cool with it but if it's taking one dollar away from your family this is fucking bullshit.

Sounds like the franchise is going bush league now.

Maybe the franchise is just ahead of the curve. Maybe paying guys to stay at home and using opponents' camera shots is smart. Hopefully shrewd decisions like this are symptoms that the ownership group is ready to cut costs elsewhere to make overspending on the roster and therefore winning more palpable.

(if this is fucking up the income of @THE HCP I'm not cool with it at all)

Unless there's a no latency thing they can do remotely then it's going to suck and be awful to watch period. It's going to sound cheap.

After going over some numbers, looks like I will be taking roughly a 30% cut in pay. Kinda tough as the kids are in and about to go to college……

You won’t see a change in home broadcasts at all….major difference on the road though…..but seems like you guys didn’t notice the difference during covid. During those shows, we only have control of 1 camera. All the other cameras were working for the other team. Makes my job insanely tougher, our director and producer as well. Doing some major rethinking about my career at this point. Already booking myself for a TNT playoffs run next spring. And got offered their baseball playoff package in October this fall. Who knows at this point….time to start working on our budget here at home.
SideNote: As this is the last year my daughter is home before she leaves to college, look like I’ll be around more, so that is a positive.

I dunno about anyone else but I noticed all broadcasts during covid stuff was really hard to sit through.

I hate that you're taking a 30% cut. Family time, yay! But man... Why did they make this decision? It seems so... I don't know, stupid and needless for a billion dollar owner.
