Is there any evidence to suggest that? I mean Im all for fandom, and yeah Meyers has been better this year but, I kind of doubt he can slow Jokic down much...
LOL.. Remember Hank Finkel? Rode Boston's bench for what seemed forever. I can see Meyers taking considerably less ( assuming teams aren't exactly lining up for his services) and just being a 11th or 12th man here for a long time.. And....I'd be cool with that.
Enes has avg 13 and 10 in the playoffs.....Meyers can give you that in his minutes at least...the team will have to scheme for Jokic and wear him down..getting him in foul trouble would be the ticket
I dont hate Meyers or anything, I think he’s been better both last year and this one. Im just curious if the belief he can play Jokic well is just being a fan, or if theres any other reasoning why we would think that.
Meyers has played against Boogie, Marc Gasol, Adams, all the bigs...it's not like he's still in 2014 mode these days...he has to bother Jokic shot with his length whenever he can...I don't think our center will be matched up on him as much as our PF
Whoever plays at C, Denver would have the advantage and thats ok it doesn't mean its over. You just want the guys you throw at Jokic to frustrate him, make it tough and make him have to play defense.
I'm counting on fatigue being an x factor over either team we face...it's why I think our bench bigs are fresh and hungry and not really in the scouting reports
There's a flipside to this coin.. Jokic having to go out and guard the spacing. They may put Milsap on him though. Meyers is gonna be fine but I think Kanter will get the majority of the minutes.
It's just puzzling to me that people on this board are actually questioning if Meyers can have a substantial impact in a series against either Denver or San Antonio after watching what happened in Game two of the first round. Winning any series in the playoffs for this team is going to take more of the same type of play from the entire team. The have to play by "Committee". A different player each game might have to step up and most likely you will see different players than what you just watched in the last series. You might get a huge night from Curry or Hood or CJ. All are capable as we have already witnessed. Meyers might put up a 20-10 game. Lillard might put up another 40+ game. We all know Aminu is going to show up and play with everything he has. Could Mo have a great game or two? Of course he could. Even moving Kanter back to second unit or just maybe reducing minutes might still bring a double double? I'm gonna put my faith in Stotts and see what he comes up with? Yes that solution might end up being going small with Turner on the court a bit more. We all watched Turner play very well at the beginning of the season when he was well rested. Turner might have a huge game this series. You just never know?
Yeah no shit, he never showed one sign of pain there or when he was rebounding or scoring, only while running up the court, someone was milking it imo.
Did I miss the images of him in pain in that pig pile? I’m not saying he’s faking it, I’m saying I don’t think it’s as bad as it’s being portrayed.
I guess I don’t get the issue right now, no one is saying he’s faking it, I just don’t think it’s as bad as it seemed at times. Night.
