He got a cortisone shot at halftime and said he took a bunch of pain relievers so he was heavily drugged. Geez man, I think it's pretty ridiculous that the guy gutted out being hurt to help his team win and you're questioning if he's really that injured?
Just my opinion, I have separated my shoulder before and no injection was gonna get me playing basketball 20 min later. I NEVER said there wasn’t an injury, I said I don’t think it’s as bad as being portrayed. Maybe there is some gamesmanship behind that, who knows. I think everyone needs to stop acting like I’m attacking him or something, it’s just an opinion.
Skal baby ... Wanna see Skal. Meyers will only be on the perimeter. Enes gives us offensive boards and moves in the post. We can post Skal?
Here is another thing about Playoff experience. The more games you play the more it feels like the way the game is played all the time. Second round here is pivotal for this team. If they can push this series to 6 or 7 games or even get a win they will grow immensely as a team in general. It goes for the way Fans react in game situations also. Some of you are too young to remember when Portland last really had "BlazerMania". Seriously it's been nearly 40 years since this town was flying Blazer banners in every window and Bars were selling Blazer game specials on every corner. When seeing "Watch Every Blazer Game Here" was an important thing for a bar to have available. People in Salem might watch the Blazers but for the last 5-10 years the Blazers have only been a Portland thing. Just wait if the Blazers make the WCF's this state will stand up and take notice again. No don't try to link the 2000 team to BlazerMania because it was not the same at all. People here were totally mixed on that team. A bunch hated Sheed in general and the jail Blazers never invoked the kind of fanatical response Drexler/Porter/Kersey/Duckworth/Williams did. And don't even go there with 2000 vs 77'. There was no comparison.
I still remember one part of an old commercial: "people would name their kids Buck, Clyde, or Jerome - even if they were girls", which was hilarious at the time.
Honestly, the 89-90 team probably really helped save this team from leaving. Now hear me out, the year before (39-43), they were kind of an after thought. I remember no one really caring much about the team (why should we, they were shit at the time). But then you add Buck Williams and the Lakers have injury issues (thanks Phoenix!) and lo-and-behold, many broken ankles were magically healed. If you took out the 89-92 teams, the fan base was kind of "meh" for a longer stretch than fans want to remember/admit. I saw that they said the team has made the playoffs like 35 times (in 49 years), but only made it past the 1st round 12 times. That means this franchise has missed the playoffs more times than it has advanced past the first round (14 vs 12), and they've been eliminated *23* times in the first round. That's about 66% of the time. :/
The Championship was 42 years ago. The ensuing years were true BlazerMania. My post says "Nearly 40 years since..." Are we really gonna nit pick this? Seriously?
And Enes can?? Kanter would have the same success against Jokic defensively. None. One could argue that Meyers spacing could be used as an advantage. And furthermore.... Y'all need to put some RESPECK on Meyers name. He's played very well offensively for us this season.
I'm rooting for Meyers to have a role in this playoff run. I no longer clench when he plays, he's earned trust.
I had to look this guy up. 1966-1975. You remember guys on the bench, from before our championship? Damn!!!!
