Dominick Reyes and Jan Blachowicz is booked for September 26th. Might be a title fight, now? Jones of five years ago would wreck Stipe Miocic, IMHO. Jones of 2020? Should be competitive.
Jones of 5 years ago does not wreck Stipe, IMO. Stipe is underrated IMO. Jones is hittable. I think 5 years ago, its a war that is anyones fight. Now, I feel the same way. Jones' has not been impressive and Stipe is looking a little olde.r
Lets go Blachowicz!! I actually don't mind either fighter; was annoyed that Reyes got the decision win over Oezdemir but I've moved past that. With Jones out of the way, LHW could be a revolving door. I don't see a dominant fighter there at all right now. 1 Dominick Reyes 2 Thiago Santos 3 Jan Blachowicz 4 Glover Teixeira 5 Anthony Smith 6 Jiri Prochazka 7 Volkan Oezdemir thats the top 7; factor Rumble back there in the near future and it is wide open.
I think back to Jones' roughest fights, and most of them have been against guys who can match him in length like Gustafsson and Reyes. So I feel like Stipe would have always been a dangerous opponent for Jones just for that fact alone. When you add in the power and all around game of Miocic I do feel Jones would have always had his hands full with Stipe as well. As for the LHW Championship bout, I would love to see Reyes take the belt. I like his style.
I guess when I saw Miocic this past weekend I saw him getting out-quicked by old man Cormier and I dunno, I feel like Jones would run circles around him. Maybe we'll find out?
I think DC has quicker hands than Jones, but maybe I'm wrong? I don't think Jones' hands are that quick and he doesn't typically have 1 punch power. Stipe, for the most part has a solid chin and packs a lot of power. I feel Jones' is very hittable now. I think the fight is a literal toss up, could go either way.
