That was a bad contract when they signed him, and much worse now. It like they didn't see the cautionary tale of BRoy.

This is THE guy you have to go for if NY makes him available.

Of course, you do have to factor in the injury he's coming back from.

Seeing what PHX is offering you'd probably have to give up Wes.

He has the skillset that is perfect next to Lillard. He has legitimate passing ability that would allow Lillard to play off the ball.

His high level defense is a plus:

We need someone plus Wes to play the SG position. To either be the microwave off the bench or push Wes to the bench to strengthen that unit. Makes no sense to trade Wes for a SG. Gets us no closer to our ultimate goal of both strengthening the starting lineup plus the bench.

Unless a team will take crap (our bench expirings, plus Freeland and etc. - which I doubt) then you only see Hickson as a small possibility of being traded imo.

Iman Shumpert isn't an upgrade over Wes IMHO. He's a nice role player that gets overhyped because of the team he's on. Reminds me of a lot of Shannon Brown who got a nice contract just because he was on a good Laker squad.

We're fine at shooting guard in my opinion. We just need a better bench.

Shumpert isn't better than Wes and he's not even a natural 2 guard.

We are average at best at the SG spot with Wes and his 14.11 PER. I think we need to move him to the bench or another team so we can start a SG that can get to the FT line consistently.

Names on who these guys are that get to the line consistently? Outside of Harden, Kobe, and Wade you won't find guys with large numbers of free throws from the SG position.

As an example, Mayo averages 3.7 free throws a game. Wes with 3.0 a game.

And I think we need to improve the SG position as well but that doesn't mean the improvement couldn't come off the bench in a scoring role. 2nd unit needs firepower.

Tyreke could be a target this summer. I guarantee Derozan won't be with his contract however.

Tyreke may be a restricted free agent depending upon the Qualifying offer. The new owners may want to keep him as an asset.
