Here are some of your "great" brothers. http://boisestatepublicradio.org/post/slideshow-rise-and-fall-aryan-nations-north-idaho#stream/0
Richard Butler was not a Democrat...he was a Neo Nazi....his party was called the Aryan Nation...they targeted Jewish Democrats and assassinated one in Colorado
I'm not saying that letting immigrants join is wrong, but it's not the way you think... 1. "More surveillance than a regular soldier" is illegal. It doesn't happen. Even when I give an order for someone to "watch out for their shipmate" or to restrict liberty b/c I'm worried about destructive behavior and potential suicidal tendencies (it's happened twice), I have to bring in the CO and a doctor or chaplain for support/legal purposes. 2. In the military, there are also those who, for whatever reason, allow greater leeway to those who are in minority positions. The Manning and Hasan cases are two examples of multiple people knowing that multiple things were messed up with these people and their actions, and yet no one was slathering to prosecute them before they either caused grave national security damage or killed over a dozen people, in large part due to their sexuality and their religion. 3. Bribes generally (generally) don't work, partially because you know exactly how much everyone in the military makes. If I bought a Ferrari and a million-dollar home, questions would be asked, even if the answer was I got a big inheritance from Uncle Sly. There are dumb ones (Fat Leonard scandal, Darlene Druyen, etc), but it's tough to pull off. 4. I think your #1 scenario mistakes general for specific. Sure, if (let's spitball here) a radicalized Afghan immigrant in Hayward, CA wants to sign up for the Army so that he could kill 20 soldiers with a rifle at Fort Hood during morning PT, that may be tough. If he just wants to kill Americans, preferably soldiers, so that it can go on the news as a "successful Al-Qaeda attack by a martyr" (as Hasan's was portrayed by Al-Awlaki and, later, ISIS), it doesn't matter if he poisons food in the chow hall line or runs over gate guards with his vehicle or sabotaging an aircraft on whatever base he is on.
I'm not a democrat but what proof do you have that this group is democrats? You didn't move to central Oregon, you moved to denial.
The insider was in the Afghan military not the U.S. military. During the Civil War we had 200,000 immigrants in the Union army.
All white supremists in America were created and perpetuated by the Democratic Party. The DNC owns racism in America. Article Grant, Reconstruction and the KKK From the Collection: The Presidents https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/features/grant-kkk/ At the time of Ulysses S. Grant's election to the presidency, white supremacists were conducting a reign of terror throughout the South. In outright defiance of the Republican-led federal government, Southern Democrats formed organizations that violently intimidated blacks and Republicans who tried to win political power. The most prominent of these, the Ku Klux Klan, was formed in Pulaski, Tennessee, in 1865. Originally founded as a social club for former Confederate soldiers, the Klan evolved into a terrorist organization. It would be responsible for thousands of deaths, and would help to weaken the political power of Southern blacks and Republicans. Racist activity in the South often took the form of riots that targeted blacks and Republicans. In 1866, a quarrel between whites and black ex-soldiers erupted into a full-fledged riot in Memphis, Tennessee. White policemen assisted the mobs in their violent rampage through the black sections of town. By the time the violence ended, 46 people were dead, 70 more were wounded, and numerous churches and schools had been burned. Just two months later, on July 30, a similar outbreak of violence erupted in New Orleans. This time, a white mob attacked the attendees of a black suffrage convention, killing 37 blacks and three whites who allied with them. In this violent atmosphere, the Ku Klux Klan grew in size and strength. By 1868, the Klan had evolved into a hooded terrorist organization that its members called "The Invisible Empire of the South." The reorganized Klan's first leader, or "Grand Wizard," was Nathan Bedford Forrest, who had been a Confederate general during the Civil War. White Southerners from all classes of society joined the Klan's ranks. In the name of preserving law and order in a white-dominated society, Klansmen punished newly freed blacks for a variety of reasons, including behaving in an "impudent" manner toward whites. They whipped the teachers of freedmen's schools and burnt their schoolhouses. But first and foremost, the Klan sought to do away with Republican influence in the South by terrorizing and murdering its party leaders and all those who voted for it. In the time leading up to the 1868 presidential election, the Klan's activities picked up in speed and brutality. The election, which pitted Republican Ulysses S. Grant against Democrat Horatio Seymour, was crucial. Republicans would continue programs that prevented Southern whites from gaining political control in their states. Klan members knew that given the chance, the blacks in their communities would vote Republican. Across the South, the Klan and other terrorist groups used brutal violence to intimidate Republican voters. In Kansas, over 2,000 murders were committed in connection with the election. In Georgia, the number of threats and beatings was even higher. And in Louisiana, 1000 blacks were killed as the election neared. In those three states, Democrats won decisive victories at the polls. Nevertheless, the Klan's violent actions proved to many Northerners that the South had not learned its lesson in the recent war. In this way, the Klan's activities actually backfired. People realized that harsher laws would have to be passed in order to stop the violence and protect Southern blacks. And those laws were soon in coming. In the 1868 presidential election, Republican Ulysses S. Grant won the office with the slogan, "Let Us Have Peace." Republicans also won a majority in Congress. Many Northerners, disgusted by Klan violence, lent their support to the Fifteenth Amendment, which gave the vote to black men in every state, and the First Reconstruction Act of 1867, which placed harsher restrictions on the South and closely regulated the formation of their new governments. Other legislation attacked the Klan more directly. Between 1870 and 1871, Congress passed the Enforcement Acts, which made it a crime to interfere with registration, voting, officeholding, or jury service of blacks. More than 5,000 people were indicted under these laws; a little more than 1,000 were convicted. In 1871 Congress also passed the Ku Klux Klan Act, which allowed the government to act against terrorist organizations. Grant did not rigorously enforce these laws, although he did order the arrest of hundreds of Klan members. But with the overwhelming support of the Klan in the South, convictions proved difficult to obtain, and the financial panic of 1873 would distract the North from the problems of Southern racism. In 1882 the United States Supreme Court declared Ku Klux Klan Act unconstitutional.
All those Democrats were converted to Republicans following the Civil and Voting Rights Acts. Do you ever wonder why? I think I know, I think I know.
You'll learn quick enough that maris is a character, a caricature if you will, that doesn't actually mean anything that he says. He knows that the democrats who were in the klan/supported jim crow laws/owned slaves, are not the same as the democrats of modern times. But he knows it triggers peoples reactions, and he enjoys seeing that reaction out of people. If you just accept that he's doing it for shits and giggles, you'll see that it makes for less frustration. Tho honestly, it must be tiresome to pull that act off all the time.
I know first hand about those 'Democrats'. They swore a blood oath when they lost the Civil War that they would never eternally be Republicans again. Families had terrible feuds over this issue. Then came the Civil and Voting Rights acts of the mid 60s and they felt so strongly about segregation and suppressing 'blackie' that they actually did the unthinkable and became Republicans. Republicans, of course, much more closely reflected their tarnished views on anyone who wasn't a WASP, including Catholics. Now they find themselves allied with Catholics and Jews 'cause these Southern WASPs had a dwindling political clout and the Catholics and Jews were largely white. My Asian wife and I went to visit my Alabama and Georgia relatives and my wife was rudely discriminated against in a restaurant. I was working in Atlanta when guy by the name of Lester Maddox was running for governor of Georgia in the mid 60s. I arrived in Huntsville, Alabama and rode in my dad's pickup truck to Atlanta. On the way, we stopped for gas and I went to a drinking fountain to get a cool drink of water. There were two fountains, one said "Whites Only" and the other said "Colored". I drank from the 'Colored' one. I place myself in the position of African-Americans and get more than a little sensitive on the issue. By the way, I had an uncle on mom's side that was a sheriff's deputy in Atlanta (Fulton County, my birth place) and a cousin on the Birmingham suburb, Vestavia Hills, police force. I know a thing or two about race relations in the deep South. Lester owned a restaurant and a hardware store side by side. The law said they had to serve anyone. Lester told his patrons to come next door and pick out a hickory ax handle, used to replace a good ax head that had a broken handle. They proceeded to threaten to beat the living hell out of any darkies that wanted a sit down meal in his restaurant. Prior to that, African-Americans had to get their lunch delivered in a paper bag at the back door. Yep, he was elected governor. Probably worse than Wallace.
Or for that matter, kills a bunch of civilians somewhere without ever joining the Army. Joining the Army is a really unnecessary complication. barfo
Unless you're trying to get your hands on a weapon, or get access to information. Isn't it illegal for green card holders to have weapons, unless they get a hunting license?
In this article investigated by National Review, the MAVNI coordinator is stating that it's more bureaucratic incompetence (by two administrations--rather, by one agency supervised by two administrations) than it is racism. As it turns out, all of the discharged immigrants failed a clearance check. In some cases, it's because one wasn't completed, and incomplete ones are automatic failures. #governmentworkers
Pretty sure there are much, much easier ways to get a weapon (illegal or otherwise) than joining the army. Information - yeah, sure, someone could join, become some sort of IT type, so that they can steal documents. But most of the people who have done that sort of thing haven't been immigrants, have they? barfo
I know a few green card holders and none of them possess a gun so maybe you're right. But then, none of the ones I know seemed at all interested in possessing a gun.
