Robbie Rogers enters in the 69th for Stuart Holden. And as soon as he gets in, he sends a cross in that finds an on-charging Casey, but his header goes off a Costa Rican defender for a corner. Torres takes it and Navas punches out another one.
Rogers is wearing number 9 tonight, which seems like a questionable selection, given that it is Charlie Davies' number. I realize that they can't hold it for Davies too long, but tonight just doesn't seem right.
And finally, the US scores in the 72nd. Donovan gets a cross from Rogers after a flick from Bradley. Navas makes a great save on Donovan, but Bradley slides into the rebound and sends it in. Should be a fun 20 minutes to end here. Its tough to start playing offense when you've been defending for 25 minutes in the second and a great deal of the first half as well. Rogers gets free in the 73rd, but sends it wide from inside the 18.
Diaz for Sirias for the Costa Ricans. Straight switch, but there should be some energy to check Rogers.
Another missed chance for Rogers as Cherundolo chips a cross in that finds the sub. The header goes wide though. Rogers is making things happen here and was a terrific sub as Holden wasn't doing much out there.
Kenny Cooper comes on for Connor Casey. Cooper isn't as much of a target as Casey is, despite being huge. Cooper is much more skilled though.
Moments later and Altidore is sprung in on goal but he sends another well off target despite getting in behind the defense.
Altidore has been all over the pitch tonight as he just broke down a Costa Rican defender on the right side of midfield and then earned a corner. The defender just collapsed as Altidore did a few step overs. Torres to take the corner and he sends it well over everyone. Gooch went down and started yelling for help immediately. This is not good for the US at all. Tough to tell what happened, but he started to go up for the header and went down instead. Gooch isn't looking good coming off on the stretcher either.
US made all three switches and will be down to 10 men now unless something miraculous happens with Onyewu.
Costa Rica is still going down easy and the ref isn't calling it. But he just called a foul on Altidore for falling over a guy who was trying to take him down low.
And Rene Semoes has been sent off as this match is getting quite interesting now. Costa Rica had a sub up and Simoes started going at the fourth official, so the ref came over and told him to find another seat to watch the last ten minutes. Simoes is now going at it with the police officers who are trying to help him off the pitch. Some US fans are going at it with him as he approaches the locker room. Another assistant has been sent off for Costa Rica and it looks like a third isn't too far behind.
It appears that the strength coach is now in charge for Costa Rica. There's mass confusion as he is just yelling and employing Walter Ceteno to lift something.
There are now seven Costa Ricans with the strength coach yelling for something to happen. US with a corner in the third minute of stoppage that Navas punches out. The ball gets sent back in and Navas punches it back out for a counter.
