<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dunksworth:</div><div class="quote_post">This one seems like a steal for the Raps....... the Hornets give up an all-star pg and a legitimate center (which is very valuable in this league) for an all-star, a monster contract, and a scrub... hhhmmm..... But even so, I'm still not sure if I'd do it, only because I like how Alston's been playing so far and it'd suck to see him coming off the bench. Maybe we could get another team involved so we could trade BD and receive two decent guards. Of all the VC trade scenerios, this is the one I like the most. Anything involving us getting a legitimate center in return is okay with me (just as long as we don't have to give up TOO much of course).</div> so its exam time, one of the dudes i'm studying is stressing the importance of controlled imagination: BD is strong enough to play at the two. imagine a backcourt of altson and BD, i'm salivating just thinking about it.

Isn't he hurt again? I'm guessing if there was anything in the works, it might be on the back burner right now, pending the analysis of the latest in the saga of super "glass" man.

"pending the analysis of the latest in the saga of super "glass" man." he missed nine games last season........give it a rest.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MaxaMillion711:</div><div class="quote_post">"pending the analysis of the latest in the saga of super "glass" man." he missed nine games last season........give it a rest.</div> It's nice when you only take into account RECENT history. Let's see: VC's been in the league for 7 years (counting this one). The 99-00 season is the only season thus far where he's played a full season. This season already looks to continue that precedent. In the previous 6 seasons, Vince has missed a grand total of 109 games. That's over a season and a quarter of time missed. During 3 of the 6 previous seasons,(half of the years in his NBA career) he's missed over a quarter of the games in those seasons, with injury tallies of 32, 22 and 39 games missed. Calling VC "glass man" is not exactly any kind of mythic reach.

yes... again you're saying last season... IT'S 1 SEASON. Look at what happened before! And you're saying he's not injury prone... give it a reast people. He's not useful to the team anymore, isn't the same like he used to. Today they played against Miami, they did better without him. MoPete stepped it up with 17 points. More tahn what VC is averaging. Plus VC is on the IR, which he could possibly stay there for the rest of his life for all he cares. He seemed like he was having the time of his life there. Honestly.
actaully the 98-99 season was lockout and the schedule was only 50 games that year and he probably woulve played a full season in his rookie year. so he played 2 full seasons. just to point out that he didnt miss the 98-99 season cause of injury.
Thank you for the correction concerning the lock-out season, Rim-Rocca. Good catch. It doesn't really change the principle of the point though: VC has had a more injury riddled career than most players of his stature.
What on earth!!?? VC to the Nets for Zo, EWill, Aaron Williams and 2 first rounders? What are the Nets thinking? This trade makes some sense for the Raptors. 1, they get rid of VC (albeit without Jalen Rose also going in the deal, which is what they're after). 2, they get a legit (when heathy) center in Zo. 3, they surround Bosh with hard working vets. The Cavs traded Ricky Davis for EWill because they knew he would be a good influence for Lebron, and it payed dividends for them immediately. And 4, 2 first rounders for a team trying to build around a 20 year old never hurts. Especially if one of them is from a team (Nets) who can't seem to decide whether they want to rebuild or not. The only concern for the Raps is Zo's health, as well as his desire to play for a contender. I am still trying to understand this from the Net's prespective. They have Jefferson, who plays a very similar game to Carter. Carter is also locked up to a big contract, so they're obviously not doing it for cap relief. Giving up cap relief AND future draft picks signals that they don't want to rebuild. Which means they'll probably also keep Kidd around. Even though Carter and Jefferson play similar games, a Kidd-Carter-Jefferson trio is pretty exciting. But it is NOT a championship contender. They will have no front court and no depth. They will be tied in long-term to three huge contracts. It would seem as though this could end up being a perrenial mediocre team if this trade goes though. I would have thought that Nets managment was smarter than that.
Nets get a steal Raps rebuild...might work...but Zo wont pan out, and Awilliams is not going to get PT.
