ok, you guys dont really seem to know what your talking about. greg oden is a defensive beast. hes not all that amazing on offense, especially against anyone his size. he will be good, but no team will need to fear him for a few years. trust me.

Come back in five years.

I think his offense will come along like it has for Dwight. I'm not expecting him to come into the league and have a big impact on offense. Of course it's hard to tell how good he really is now, since he is only playing with one hand, but his offense is very very raw. His defense is very very good, but I don't think he'll come into the NBA as a huge offensive threat. I think it will take a couple of years. I expect him to take around the same path that Dwight is, make his name as a great rebounder/defender, while the offensive game develops.

Right now his offense is limited to dunks and using his power to score (much like Dwight), but given time and coaching he will develop into a great all around player. Like you mentioned, he is playing with one hand right now and is still finding ways to score and knock down free throws. While I agree that defense and rebounding are his strengths right now, I expect Oden to become an offensive force once he enters the league. It may not be right away but to say that "no team will need to fear him" is just crazy. Also, I think the experience Oden is getting from attending college will help his game a lot. Rather than just entering the NBA extremely raw and full of potential, he will get to work with Ohio State's coaches and they should be able to help him take his game to the next level. Take Emeka Okafor for example. He was a defensive/rebounding big man in college and has developed a pretty nice offensive game since leaving college and joining the Bobcats.
Man, if Greg Oden teams up with another solid big man in the East, please welcome the new Twin Towers. If Toronto gets him, it's over. Bosh and Oden are sooooooo nasty. If Chicago definitely gets him, then holy ****. That's the worst thing that could ever happen to the East. I mean Oden is already a great defender and is a solid offensive player. If you give the guy 2 good seasons in the NBA, then he will become one of the best younger players in the NBA.
