The Nets aren't a short term team anymore and moving a depreciating asset for appreciating assets is what they need to do.

He's a quitter and I have no respect for him.</div> This is just plain ignorant talk. The fact is, when things started to look bleak and adversity hit, it's when Carter HAS helped lift the Nets out of it over the years. When he got to Jersey in the 04/05 season the Nets were several games below .500 and Kidd was coming back from microfracture surgery. Then RJ injured his hand and had to have surgery missing the rest of the regular season. The roster was filled with a bunch of guys that are not even in the league right now. But they made an amazing run to get into the playoffs and Vince was the primary reason for it. In 05/06 they got off to a slow 9-12 start but then went on a 10 game win streak with Carter fueling it with his play and helping turning the season around. Last season Krstic went down with a knee injury and was out for the rest of the season. RJ was struggling with ankle problems and eventually needed surgery and the Nets were in danger of missing the playoffs. But Carter carried them down the stretch with a player of the month honour and they captured the 6th seed and a first round matchup with the Raptors who they knocked out in the first round. So you're wrong and have no clue what you're talking about.
He has no heart and is too unselfish. He doesn't look to score as much as he looks to pass. He is still a star player, when he wants to be.

I don't know whatelse to say, everyone has an opinion on Vince and what kind of player he should be, If he was a selfish player everyone on you that are tearing into him would say get him off this team becasue he is not a team player, He tries to help everyone by creating for them and he doesn't look to hog the ball but he is a heartless wimp? c'mon WTF. Everyone desrves blame for this season and the way it's turned out, I'm a big Kidd fan but the way he left this team left a bad taste in my mouth, the "migraine" episode was inexcusable. I'm not not going to bash Vince. I'll keep asking the question, Can someone name me another player who the Nets can get in free agency this summer to replace him with, someone who will replace his scoring and playmaking ability?
