<div class="quote_poster">CLos Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">The Magic AREN'T that interested in Carter anymore. When Carter becomes a FA, he is gonna ask for too much especially for his age. The Magic rather have a younger player. Also, Charlotte still is looking at Carter possibly for the future but haven't said anything about it yet.</div> Well, there you go... It just proves my point.
<div class="quote_poster">CLos Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">What are you talking about?</div> Just proving a point to answer_ai03 about teams not wanting Carter.
O well when Carter is asking too much and is gonna do very little or not as well as previous seasons then why should people want him!
That doesnt prove anything. You have no idea what Carter is going to do, the same way that i dont. Anything could happen, and Carter could land with alot of different teams. the fact is, we won't know until the season is over. its just my opinion that Carter will want to leave after the season, and also that the nets would be better off trading him. i mean, your all saying why would another team want to overpay an older player who isn't doing as much as he used to. well, why would the nets? orlando might be more interested in howard now, but i bet you anything they will make a strong push to get vince. i know i would if i were them.
Honestly, answer me this. Would you want to pay a guy $15 million a year and is gonna be 30, to only give you mediocre stats and not an overall player?? That's all I gotta say.

He also has good court vision and defense. But he really isn't needed on the Magic or any other team for that matter. I mean, all teams got their bases covered. Maybe Denver, but that's it.

I mean his defense is good but his age is getting up there and to give him $15yr kinda money is ridiculous. I don't see anybody signing him but New Jersey or Charlotte.
<div class="quote_poster">CLos Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Nowadays people can jack up a bunch of shots and get 25ppg..</div> What? Name 3.....No, name 1 person.
<div class="quote_poster">CLos Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Well, Mike James avg. 20ppg jacking up shots.</div> That's different. Toronto was his first season where he played AND started 75+ games. He also got a considerable more amount of minutes than previous seasons as well as him getting more shot attempts. If he got the same liberty in Minny then I can't see why he can't atleast post 16-18 ppg.
You can't say that. Mike James is gonna be a bright spot for that team along with KG and will prob. have a good amount of shooting since he's a good 3Pt shooter.
I think vince will be an upper teir gaurd in this league until he retires. Even if his amazing athletisism depreciates over the next couple years, he will still be more athletic than alot of players in the nba. Besides his athletisism, he can play some d, he can pass, and he has a pretty good 3 pt shot. Im not sure he would be worth $15 mil at that stage in his career, but i know he would be worth alot to whatever team he played for. Im just saying if i were him, i would def be out of new jersey, and looking for a title.
Right. I'm sure he will do fine but is he worth $15 a yr? I don't think so. The man is gifted and has done wonders since being in the NBA with his patented dunks and highlight reels but if takes a paycut for around $11-12 million then that would be fine.
Carter can be an asset to any team, but Carter won't play for a team where he's the second option. He'd rather be the no. 1 guy on a losing team rather than be on a winning team where he's just a back up. I just don't see Carter leading a team to a championship.
Yeah, I don't see Carter joining the Spurs to be a 6th man either. The best option for him is to just stay in New Jersey and hope for the best instead of leaving and either going to Orlando(which is still rebuilding), Charlotte(well, c'mon its Charlotte), or any other team like maybe Dallas or San Antonio.
Right. New Jersey is the best situation for him and realistically it's the best situation for the Nets as well. Carter's value has gone down. The Nets won't be able to get an equal trade for him. So it's better to stick it out with him and focus at the season at hand. Frankly (no pun intended), the Nets chances for a title run is now, but the clock ticking fast. The top teams in the east are Miami, Detroit and New Jersey. And the Nets are very capable of beating both of them, its going to be tough, but the Nets can do it. With the big 3 healthy, a consistent Krstic and a better bench, the Nets chances are very good.
