<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dj_premium_plus:</div><div class="quote_post">vince avg'd 4 points less per game, and he had donyell marshall and jalen rose and chris bosh on his team. i think those 2 extra buckets could easily be made up

vince also only missed 9 games last season and is spending the summer strength training and conditioning...i think its not a strech to think he's over the worst of his injuries.</div>
He said 0.4 points less, not 4 points less. :P

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ice:</div><div class="quote_post">Theres no way the Blazers would do that.

Randolph is putting up a double double out west for Portland, and he's turning into their franchise player. Theres no way they would trade him for VC - a player who is often overrated and injury plagued.</div>
....and why would the Raptors do it either? We have a player named Chris Bosh who is just 20 and coming off a pretty good season considring he's about 225 lbs playing center.

I understand the whole Vince and Pierce trade thing, but what would it do for both teams, they both didn't have impressive years, and Pierce is the better rebounder, but he shot worse, and had better assists numbers because he had the ball more, but was top in the league in turnovers. At least his defense is average though, Vince's was below, but I was just watching the first few games of the season on Raptors TV today, and Vince was actually playing D, it was scary, he stopped a few games after that though, took a defensive rest for the season.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Sasha:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't think he has done the most he can, he still has a good 3-4 years ahead of him. In this time, he could get a good supporting cast, that will take him to where he once was. He probably won't get a good supporting cast mainly because of his style of play, but also because of the front office decisions. To say that Vince could, is totally absurd, because he would be in the same position that Allen is right now. If the trade were to go down, it would be hard for the front office to do anything to sign another superstar player to accompany Vince on the road to the championship.</div>
Nothing against Iverson, but he's probably one of the last guys I want if we traded Vince, with Antoine Walker and Jerry Stackhouse not even being on the list, but Iverson is older, also injury prove whether people want to admint it or not, would not help us any more than Vince would, and his style of play would infringe on the development of Bosh.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TMAC_LIVE:</div><div class="quote_post">No way Vince even compares to pierce. Pierce is a superstar who hits clutch after clutch shot and can turn it on whenever he wants. Mo Pete is a career underachiver and Vince Carter has the talent but it goes wasted and he isnt a proven player anymore.</div>
I'd say he does, Pierce might hit clutch shot after clutch shot, but so does Vince, I'd give Pierce slightly more value only because he tries more on defense, but he's still only average, nothing spectacular (on D).
Pierce has declined the last 2 years, last year I don't know why, and this year Antoine Walker leaving, but his FG% and 3PT% drop and drop, Vince shot 41.7% this year, but 38% from 3PT range and was much much more efficient scorer than Pierce who shot 40.2% and 29.9% from 3PT range, and also took 141 more three's. Last year Carter shot 46% with AD, Mo-Pete and Voshon as the other options.
At least Pierce went to the line 2.1 more times than Vince, he got fouled while shooting one more time a game.

    I just don't like the:
    PPG: 26.1, 25.9, 23.0
    FG%: 44.2, 41.6, 40.2
    3PT%: 40.4, 30.2, 29.9

nice job pointing that out og15. I never noticed that....but all players had a decrease in scoring this year, but the % scares me.

One more article on the subject. This is becoming a media circus. You know for all the people that say Vince is done, the fact that so much media is printed about this rumour speaks volumes to the fact that the rest of the NBA still feels he's a marquee player.

I just want to see Vince get some help. Getting Jalen was a start, even though he is over-paid in my opinion. Jalen has come a long way since he was younger and trying to not get along with his bosses. I want to see Vince stay in TO and for the Raptors brass to spend some money and bring in some more help. There is lots of space on their roster if you haven't noticed. I'm hoping Vince was just blowing off steam when he demanded the trade. I'd be pissed too if my team had used out #1 pick to draft the second coming of Bryant Reeves. LOL
