<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dj_premium_plus:</div><div class="quote_post">9 games missed and 22ppg, 5 apg, 5 rpg is broke and unfixable? tayshaun will be 20 5 and 5? tayshaun will sell tickets and lead the league in all-star votes? i love tayshaun as much as the next guy, but come on...he's a role player, not a superstar either way, the trade stinks. raptors are never going to give up vince for some role players. IF the raps trade him, it'll be for another premier player like pierce or ray allen...etc. toronto depends on a big name star to sell tickets and keep the seats full at ACC.</div> Tru say. VC is too good for those guys. he's a superstar. none of those guys are superstars and i doubt that tayshaun will be any better than VC
[quote name='VinKanaddy']Are you ignorant or what? A whole country behind VC? Ok.. how come Yao Ming didn't win the all star balloting then? He got what.. some 1.3 bil ppl behind him? and look at the chart below. VC still got 269,863 paper ballots and voting on a paper was only allowed in arenas in the states. Note that it says "28" ARENAS? If you do the math (29-28), Air Canada Centre is excluded from the list of arenas where ballots were distributed. According to your theory, VC should have got no paper ballots or much MUCH less than what he had. But guess what? He got more paper ballots than any of the leading vote getters with the exception of Tim Duncan. He even beat Ben Wallace. vince also was the top vote getter two years ago, when he barely played half the season. not only that, he wouldnt give his undeserving spot to MJ...thats fantastic
I thought he gave the spot to MJ? Webber was 7th in West Forward votes this year without playing a game, whats the big deal, it happens, you make it seem like an isolate situation. Scottie Pippen was 5th in East Forwards All-Star vote doing nothing this year, Reggie Miller beat Billups and Rip Hamilton in All-Star votes, Manu Ginobili was 5th in All0Star votes for West Guards beating Mike Bibby, Tony Parker, Ray Allen, Michael Finley, and Mobley. Also Steve Franicis was an All-Star starter over Nash, Cassell, Bibby etc, you made no point, Alonzo Mourning was second in East center All-Star votes this year you're really getting at nothing here.
This is a stupid trade. Why would the defending champions trade away three key players from their championship team? Makes no sense.
Alright, everyone loves Vince. We'll leave it at that. He's overrated, and please don't argue that. All he has left is the jumper, since i'm from Toronto and get EVERY game on t.v, so I watch it and I don't really see him driving as much anymore and finishing with the same intensity taht he used to have, jsut alittle finger roll or layup/floater. I know u guys will continue to worship VC b/c or whatever. But I have already moved past the phase of knowing he'll never return back to his original NASTY (in a good way) form.

It's about knowing a word called "maturing". Glad you're not a Carter fan anymore, because you don't deserve to be one if you say you moved on just because you don't see him dunk as much anymore. Hello? Ever heard of a "bandwagon fan"?Pshh.. "All he has left is the jumper", obviously you didn't watch every Raptor game like you said you did. As a player matures, and his jumpshot improves, he opts to take it if the shot's there and he feels he can make it, rather than trying to drive through a double team risking a turnover or an injury. Look at Michael Jordan, a "DIFFERENT" (VC is NOT MJ) but a great example of how a player develops his game over years. He was known as a slasher at first, and then as his shots improved he opted to take jumpshots and reduced his tendency to drive.
Nothing wrong with a good jumper. I would like Vince to be traded, but not to Detroit (I dont understand why they would want to trade anyone in their championship winning team) I would like Vince to get traded to Philly or some east coast team. Would that be possible?
Vince doesn't have a good jumper. He has a very good one. He has the ability to turn and shoot around anybody he wants. Some of his amazing games which showcased this were: The TNT game in Cleveland, The battle between Carter and Marbury in MSG, Carter destroying Ron Artest in Indiana (the first half mostly), Carter in ATL, Carter in NO, Carter in Philly etc. All of those games he just kept draining them, whether it was an outside shot, over someone, a turn around jumper, it just kept going in. Obviously, I'd like to see him drive more, and get to the free throw line, but like McGrady, he falls in love with his Jumper. McGrady actually has the better ability to drive and finsih, because his steps are longer, and he's long. If he just drove a little more often, then settling for a shot, than he would average, 4, 5, 6 points more.

Vince is a top 10 jump shooter amongst shooting guards which means he's better than Kobe and Tracy in jump shooting. He just loves it and uses it to maintain his game because of his injuries. He does drive, but he prefers the jumper more, and he is successful with it almost all the time.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting banks3:</div><div class="quote_post">I said Vince doesn't have a good jumper, and after that I stated that he has a very good one.</div> What??? If you're saying he has a good jumper but doesn't have a great one, then I see what you're saying, but why doesn't he have a great jumper?
Chungster you're sounding like an idiot, he said Vince doesn't have a good jumper, he has a very good one, anyone that can't understand that needs a long lesson in reading comprehension.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">vince also was the top vote getter two years ago, when he barely played half the season. not only that, he wouldnt give his undeserving spot to MJ...thats fantastic</div> and how was Michael Jordan deserving? There were players that had better numbers than MJ that weren't starting....so how is MJ more entitled to that spot than any other player? People only wanted to see MJ start because they were anticipating that it was his last year and not from how he was playing that particular year. All-star games are about the current season and not what you've accomplished in your career. The starting line up is also about who the fans want to see (yes, the same people who voted) and not who is playing the best. If the fans wanted to see MJ in the starting lineup than they would have voted so, but that is not how it ended up.
i know you think this is a bad trade for the detroit pistons because of there championship but i think the pistons should do this look at the proposed lineup PG:Billups SG:Carter SF:Hamilton PF:R. Wallace C:Big Ben Why not all u would have to do is move richard hamilton to SF. I would do it plus VC will sell tickets and jerseys.
