Batum every day of the week. He's exactly what this team is missing.

Disagree - the right trade would have been Wilson Chandler rather than Afflalo. I don't know whether he was actually available, but rumors at the time were that it would be Afflalo or Chandler. If Olshey picked Afflalo when he had a chance at Chandler, he done fucked up. At the time we actually had some back-up SGs, but we had nobody (other than Dorrell "Aminu" Wright) backing up Nic.

The rumor I remember was Afflalo for 1st rounder or Chandler for TWO 1st rounders. I wanted Chandler more as well but that was too much to pay if true.

Yeah, if true then the price is far too steep. FAR too steep. So much so that it couldn't have been a realistic ask.

I don't want to go all @HCP on you guys, but.....

Vonleh has a good game, and everyone's on his bandwagon? Batum was inconsistent, but Vonleh takes that to a whole new level.

His defense has been consistently good lately. Hardly one game.

His defense was good last year, too. He is averaging FIVE ppg this year. If you take out his season high last game of 11 points,
his average is more like his career average of FOUR ppg. We're playing 4 on 5 on offense when he's out there - that's a big problem.

He's played ten games all year, zero preseason or training camp. Last five games he's averaging 7ppg. That's completely fine considering the amount of attempts he gets and his role. As the year goes on and the trust builds I expect they'll start running some plays for him, but he's never going to be a focal point offensively while playing with Dame, CJ, and Nurk. That doesn't mean we're playing "4 on 5" though. You're suggesting he's a liability, and I don't see that at all.

Man, I'd like to meet you sometime. You're one of the few who's a bigger homer than I am.

He has an offensive rating of 111, which suggests the offense flows just fine with him on the court.

I don't think I'm being a homer, just don't agree with what you said.

The answer is so obviously Batum that voting for Vonleh is just a sign of tribalism. It's like a blue collar worker voting for Trump.

Nic is on a 5 year, 120 million dollar contact. For what he brings, I don't want him on my team.

An inconsistent offense threat that can't shoot? And has overrated defense? How is that what we're missing?
I don't write the checks, but paying him 22 a year means cutting from elsewhere.

Batum, because he'd be such a massive upgrade over the SFs we have.

Batum is way to expensive for his production

He can’t even shoot. Look at his stats.

At the end we would have to gut our bench to afford him. Vonleh is only 22 and plays excellent defense and rebounds well.

Only thing Vonleh needs is a reliable jumper and he’s deadly at the 4 for us

You could say the same about any other 4 in the league who only rebounds and dunks. Odds at this point are slim.

You posit a good question, dog.

Contracts aside, it's obviously Batum for this year. He fits with what we need.

I like Noah Vonleh for his age though. If he can get confident from 10-15 feet with his jumper then we will be just fine. Keep rebounding big man!!!
