I've mentioned previously in this forum that I don't like either candidate or party. This morning I realized that my opinion of who I want to win the Presidential Election is primarily being influenced by who is supporting each person.

Essentially, there are a lot of people I find to be absolute morons that are supporting Obama and it is making me want to see him lose.

A lot of my views tend to fall in line with the Democratic party, but I don't consider myself a 'Democrat'. I don't see the point of associating yourself with a specific party, you just box yourself in when you do that. I vote for whoever I think has the best chance of succeeding in office.

Cpaw, why does whoever's supporting Obama affect you? I mean, Denny and CelticKing (and there are probably more) support McCain, but they're not morons to me, quite the opposite. I think if you vote for a president based on who supports them (as opposed to who can do a better job) that's really stupid, but too each his own.

I don't support McCain. Ron Paul was my guy in 1988 and 2008.

However, I would get a list of whoever DailyKOS endorses and not vote for a single one of their choice candidates.

    Call me anti-partisan.

I knew I wasn't the only one who thought you did based on reading your posts.

Maybe you've missed all the posts I've made about McCain being way too old? Or the ones I've posted saying I probably disagree with 80% of his agenda?

Or the many I've posted saying I'm writing in Paul. Or the many I've posted saying if I had a gun to my head and had to choose between Obama and McCain it'd be Obama.

It's hard to tell at first. But the more you read his posts it becomes easier to tell that he isnt heavy right wing or a McCain fan. He's told people on more than one occasion that he's 3rd party and he is heavily against most/or all the principles of the Democractic party due to their history and again, their principles.

I obviously know you don't now. There was a time that I did, months ago.

Let me put it this way. I agree with about 90% of Ron Paul's positions, with the one exception being Iraq.

I'm ghetto-poor. I personally can't afford another president who will do the reverse-robinhood.

How? Either one of these guys could get elected and be the worst President ever, or the best President ever. Nobody knows right now.

Neither one will be able to do major changes that we can see in 4 years. (or even 8, lets say)

That's how bad the economy in the US is. Virtually every company has lost money in the past 24 months. (or lets say some are even, but that's not how you business in the 21st century)

Its about laying the groundwork. As I've said, we tried one strategy (the republicans). It failed miserably, try another approach (the democrats).

As I said, I don't like either candidate (I despise them as candidates actually) and can't decide between them based upon their (lack of) merits, so I'm looking at other factors.

It failed miserably when the Dems took control of congress. Prior to that, it was only subpar.

A lot of people seem to forget that point, that the Democrats control the congress. (and have been for the past few years now)

It's time the republicans get it back and get this country on track.
