    Summer League is a big deal for players not on an NBA roster. It's a chance to showcase themselves not just to NBA teams, but to teams from all over the world. They may not get this kind of exposure in the leagues they regularly play in.

    more often than not baseball pitchers will play in the minors until they're in their 30s....travel on shitty buses and play to empty parks...playing hoops in Europe would be more fun for Pat than being a minor league rookie pitcher for the Orioles....I just watched another 34 year old pitcher who's a rookie for the first time the other day....cracking a rotation in baseball is really tough to do
