After a game one win filled with too many turnovers and poor shooting, the Blazers will look to improve their performance against the Boston Celtics who are coming off an 86-81 win over the Lakers in a match-up the NBA drooled all over themselves for with more previews, coverage and interviews than most of the rest of the teams will get the entire Summer League.

The Celtics were led by #3 pick Jayson Tatum with 27 points and fellow rookie Semi Ojeleye with 19. The Celtics don't have a lot of 'bigs' so it will be an interesting match up with Collins/Swanigan versus the wings of the Celtics.

The Blazers got 26 points, 20 rebounds and 5 blocks from their two rookie big men in handing the Jazz their first loss after three straight wins.

    A definite contrast in styles.

Hopefully Collins and Swanigan suck badly this next game because Paul Allen can't afford 2 more max contracts in 4 years.

I want to see Layman improve the most. It would be nice seeing him impress us. We know that Swanigan and Collins will come out to play.

Collins is being to hard on himself. He played just fine in his first summer league game.

    Bring on the C's!

No he's not. This is not a WABC thing, but he has to be better than 3-13 with 6 turnovers. He had 4 blocks, but he swung his arm at them, and that's gonna give him problems going forward.

We, as a fan base, need to stop settling for trying hard

MM he's 19 and just played in his first summer league game! Maybe we give him a game or three and see how he adjusts. He has a high bbiq, he will work through it, but we have to let him figure it out.

Swanigan looked like a keeper too.

I'm not saying we shouldn't. But he didn't play well, and he wasn't too hard on himself. KAT was bad in his first game also, and basically said the same stuff. He was not good. Fans have to stop being apologists. He knows he needs to be better, and that's awesome

Why do fans have to stop being apologists? What difference does that make?

It will be interesting to see how Collins reacts in his second game. What fans really need to do is to learn not to read too much positive or negative into just one game. Particularly one fricking summer league game.

Who is being an apologist? I don't see anyone saying he had a great/good game. Just that it is is first and he is 19 years old. Probably a little early to be worried......or be elated if he had really had a good game.

This. It's ok to say he played poorly. It's also ok not to read anything into 1 game.

So if it's ok to "not to read anything into 1 game"

Wouldn't someone doing JUST THAT post something like:

So why are you chastising him for doing exactly what you said was ok to do?

Do you need a joint or something? :smiley-happysmoke:

Let people respond the way they want to without having to deal with your constant bombardment of negativity.
