You seem like an amateur basketball observer. Is this the first SL you've watched?

No just color me as a frustrated and slightly drunk fan who is turning into mediocre man because I'm starting to realize we are gonna waste Dame/CJs Prime developing a WABPF. I just don't want to see us win 35-45 games per season and get bounced in the playoffs early for the next 5 years only to transition to winning 20-25 games a season.

I was there again tonight guys. A bit more sober but I wish I wasn't. I'm souring on Layman. Missed shots. Ok whatever. But the mental part is more concerning. Another guy that struggles with confidence. We don't need anymore of those. One is enough.

Swanigan is dope. He'll adjust. He's always around the ball. Can't teach that.

    Connaughton. Bro. Go play baseball.

Collins is impressive defensively. Gives him
a chance to play early. His passing seems like it was underutilized at gonzaga. Not sure he'll play much as a rookie though. Swanigan is ahead of him, but that's not a surprise considering he's a year ahead.

Patty is gonna get cut. Wouldn't surprise me if Layman went that direction too.

I'm so confused about who these people are
Why do you feel the need to defend all Zags players? I like Ducks football but I don't go around defending their players once they leave.

Why do you feel the need to stop defending Duck football players once they leave? Please justify your short-term loyalty.

You like to emulate what you don't like. This doesn't make sense.

Loyalty to the players? That's absurd. They're not entitled to a successful pro career, nor is it my job to defend them to other fans. They can stand on their own merits. I enjoy watching college football. It's not my job to support them once they graduate.

Just to clarify; I think there have been a lot of people hoping for two-way players.

The only reason I can think of that this guy is playing is that Neil (for some reason) is doing a favor for Hunter's agent.

    Yep, me included.

There has also been constant bashing of several of our current players by many in this forum due to their poor defense. Yes, Collins has struggled on offense, but his defense has been quite good.

Some people are always glass-half-empty pessimists. Collins, as a weak 19-year old, is showing solid defensive instincts and fundamentals, but because he isn't posting gaudy numbers in the box scores after a whopping 2 summer league games we are getting multiple threads questioning the pick.

Everyone needs to relax. He will get stronger. He will get better.

I watched the two summer league games, and was thinking man, Collins is no where near ready to play ahead of Meyers. Except that Collins kept making defensive plays. And even when he wasn't strong enough to win the play, he was making the right play. Over and over again, Collins is contesting and making the right defensive play. Give him two years to learn the game, get stronger, and improve his offense and I think we may have a pretty good player. Those wanting him to step in this season though, as I've said before, I think will most likely be disappointed. What I'm dreading is the armchair quarterbacking on this board of people bitching that Collins is on the bench whenever Meyers is on the floor. I love you maniacs, so I guess I'll just put up with it. ;)

What Olshey does he focus on 4 players this summer layman pat Collins Swanigan. Then he gets a bunch of players to fill the rest of the team. One reason we don't good in summer league. You got 2 rookies that went through workout after workout so they might be little tired and might have lost some of there legs. There put through 4 practice and they start playing so if you expect a lot don't it not going to happen. All I been looking how they react on defense and so far Collin and Swanigan have pass that test.

Collins also seems to have pretty good rebounding smarts. He seems to know where he should be, and he works to get there. Problem is, I keep seeing bigs on the other team just move him out of the way. On our first possession last night, Collins was in perfect rebounding position in front of the rim. The defender just hooked him and moved him around to his back like he was made of cardboard, and sealed him off from the basket. I'll say that was the worst example that I noticed, but yeah, he doesn't have a lot of lower body strength.

Shouldn't have stolen HCP's likes that one time.....what bothers me more is your 115 trophy pts....everyone else has been stuck on 113 for years now...that mysterious 2 extra points is an inflated stat!!!!!
