Olshey picks up players like Sir Mixalot picks up big booty girls. "So they toss it and leave it And I pull up quick to retrieve it"
What a stupid fucking reason to just waive a player you just wasted a 1st round pick on the year before. Stories like that make me not feel the least bit sorry with what a joke that franchise has become.
Their fans are starting to get similarly bitter as nuggets fans. “His attitude sucked!” “He was a cancer!” Lol good stuff. But it just shows you how lucky we are to be rooting for a team that has a great environment, with good coaches that invest in development, and a leader like Dame who doesn’t big time anyone.
Seems like excuses when your team doesn't know how to maximize the abilities of their players and are trying to justify why they play well on other teams.
The next step will be them comparing Baldwin’s numbers with Mike Conley’s to make themselves feel better.
Good leaders inspire their teammates. Good coaches make sure players have the opportunity to succeed. Memphis has neither.
I love spring when we get New Player Fever for a few games! I didn’t dare watch the comeback for fear of jinxing it but I’ll rewatch the second half tomorrow. I wanna see this kid! Thank Olshey for giving us effectively an additional first round rookie every year!
I love him. I like the idea of picking up the first round rejects from a couple of years back, like Baldwin and PapaG. Off to the Hezonja thread!
Wade Baldwin played great against Houston. He excelled. I like that Stotts dumped the end of the bench at the end of the 4th Q. He probably thought "what does it matter" when the Rockets poured it on and lead by 24 at one point. Much to his surprise, the practice squad just fell short of a miracle comeback of 17-0 in Toyota Center. Finally, at the end, I wish CJ's game winner 3 point shot dropped. A win against them would make us all much more comfortable when the playoffs start. This team is not getting blown out and a variable margin under 10 means were in it but Stotts has not figured out (since the end of the streak) how to instantly dominate when it matters most.
1) He was poison - a culture killer. and 2) You can make this stuff up... they wanted to keep Mario.... Chalmers
Yeah, especially in today's high salaried players, 1st round picks with team guaranteed of 4 years of a low cost contract would make one think a team would at least go 2 years with the player.
CJ making that shot would have been great and would have loved to see the look on little whiny Chris Pauls face.
Compare Conley and Dame... Conley obviously felt threatened by Baldwin and tried to put him in his place as a rook. Dame says he wants every single one of his teammates to succeed even point guards like Baldwin and Napier because he is so confident in himself that he would love if those guys challenged him and were as good as him. He knows that makes the team better too. Dame just gets it. I really can't get past that it seems Baldwin was only a bad seed in Memphis because the vets were trying to put him in his place.
