<div class="quote_poster">Quoting JamesWorthy42:</div><div class="quote_post">Of course Dwayne Wade because he has college experience and Lebron dosen't.</div> Quick question what does having college experence have to do with anything if both are already in the NBA nad performing at the same level. Either way I say Lebron is better his team is near the top of the division he is second in the NBA in scoring the quickest person ever to reach 2000 points, and the player of the month.
I would take Wade for my team. He is battle tested from Marquette, and last years playoffs. Please stop using Shaq as an excuse. Lebron had Boozer and Z last year, but couldn't make the playoffs. Wade led the Heat last year. Although he had Lamar and Caron, you could argue that the Cavs had the better overall team. Lebron has learned to shoot, which Wade already knew how to do. Lebron is no more explosive that Wade, but is taller and provideds match up problems. Lebron was playing out of position last year (pre-Mcinnis) being 6'9" and going up against guys 4-6 inches shorter than him. Not to take away from his game, but I believe that Wade is the better player.

I like lebron over wade. It comes down to lebrons amazing versatility for me. Theyre both good defenders, wade being slightly better at defending IMO.What sells lebron to me as the better of the two is his versatility, his ability to take over a game with his scoring, and because hes one of the best passers in the league.Lebron offers a little more than wade.<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Lebron has learned to shoot, which Wade already knew how to do.</div> I could have swore last year that there was talk of wade trying to be more confident with his jumper.Actually, assuming that wade already knew how to shoot and lebron has just learned how to, doesnt that mean that currently they can both shoot the ball?So how can this point be used against lebron?

Close call. Both are franchise players but I will have to chose Lebron in this one, he is just so talented in all aspects of his game and he is still a teenager. With much respect to Wade, for he had to make a hard switch from SG to PG, but I just think Lebron would be a better player to build your franchise around. The kid is a freak, 27 days before his 20th birthday and he is putting up big time numbers which are similer to Oscar Robinson type numbers, 26 points, nearly 8 boards, and 6 assits per game for a forward. Lebron is also #3 in steals per game, and #1 in total steals. And for you people out there that said he can't shoot, he is shooting 50% from the field and 34% (average) from three.
Wade imo is just as good as James. Wade I think is more of a leader and a very mature guy. As Jurassic said, Boozer and Ilguaskas is a killer frontcourt and the Cavs. The Cavs team last year could arguably be better than Heat last year. Wade really steps up at cruch time and was the catalyst in the playoffs vs. Indiana. So to say in 5 years it wont even be close is very shallow. Please elaborate on that more.

I intentionally mentioned the Pistons as well just so that you wouldn't start whining, but you did anyway. *Patiently waits for realdealbneal to respond by saying "cool"*</div> The Heat took Shaq to make them into a contender. They ignored the fact that Shaq is getting paid nearly $30 million a year, and won't settle for anything less...and $30 million is $15 million from the cap. Eddie Jones and Shaq are pretty close to the salary cap, and that's why the Heat are having to rely on Shandon Anderson, Christian Laettner, and guys that they have to pick up for minimums...because they have put them in a position where they have Shaq locked up for a while, with the biggest contract in the league. Say Shaq stays for 4-6 years. That makes him around 36-38 years old. If you believe Shaq will be putting up 24-12 every night at that age, something is wrong. He's past his prime and runs a HUGE risk of injury. Now, this is also considering the Heat keep him happy...in other words, win a championship down the road. With that said, the Heat don't have much time to do that. How does this fit into Dwyane Wade's career? Well, you can't be the man without a little help, and I don't care if you're Jordan, Magic, Bird, Shaq, anyone...it's a historical fact that nobody has single-handedly won a championship by themselves without good contributions from another player. If Kobe and Shaq couldn't get it done for two years straight, I don't see how Wade and Shaq can...and Shaq's only getting older. So how do the Heat improve if they don't win it all this season? That's right...they don't. They'll have to pray that Wade becomes Michael Jordan before Shaq retires...otherwise, the Heat are well over the cap and for a long time, where all they'll be doing is signing minimums to fill the void for the shorter, cheaper contracts of players that they'll be losing each year. In other words...Shaq is 32, and it could play a tremendous factor in Wade's career, if the Heat continue to lose in the playoffs...because I doubt the Heat will make the Eastern Conference Finals this season, let alone the Finals...where they'll more than likely be blown out by the Pistons before getting there, or the Spurs if they make it that far. Everyone had high hopes for Vince Carter, and Toronto was happy to get a guy who could one day lead them to a championship. In fact, Vince and McGrady were legit contenders, if you remember right...but now, McGrady is gone and Vince is about to be shipped out of Toronto. When you don't win, you lose. With Odom, Butler, Grant and Wade...the Heat were already in the playoffs and almost made it to the Eastern Conference Finals, correct? That was their first year together, actually...with Odom and Wade. Give that team two or three more years, and things would've been great...but now it's different. My point? The point is...down the road, but starting now...everything is placed on the Heat's shoulders. No matter how Wade plays, the others have to play a good game to win. If he does this his entire career, he'll be a Tracy McGrady. LeBron is different. He's a few years younger and is on a team that can easily be improved down the road, if needed. Guys like Drew Gooden and Zyrundas Ilgauskas are wanted, especially in the East. The team is one player away from being under the cap in the first place, and could very well look for free agents by next year. If I were a player, I'd play alongside LeBron and get paid a deserving salary...than to play alongside Wade and Shaq, for the minimum salary. Malone won't do it, Mourning won't do it...it's that simple. Too many factors play into this...Miami's financial situation, having Shaq when he's past his prime, having hardly any backups, and risking an injury to the guy everyone claimed would lead the Heat to the rings. What is expected of LeBron? Improvement, year by year. Wade is expected to win a championship. I'll take LeBron. Efficiency, passing, scoring, agility, rebounding, athleticism, strength, physique, ticket sales, youth...it's all there.
Well although I don't agree with a lot of that, thanks for providing your reasons. The only point I'll point out is the one in your last paragraph. The margin between the two players is minimal in most of the categories you mentioned. For the categories not based on actual numbers (athleticism) the margin is arguable in either player's favor. I'll end on that, since it seems that it's leaning more towards Cavs vs Heat now.

The Heat is a good team. What are you talking about? Now, I guess if I had a Dwyane Wade signature, and I said, "Uhhh...the Heat are great. They're winning a ring this year. For me, I'd say KG, Duncan, Shaq, Kobe, and LeBron (not necessarily in that order) are the five great players in the game today. After that, the next tier of players would include Pierce, Dirk, Wade, Iverson, and McGrady.

And please tell me if only one team that wins the ring can be qualified to be called "great team". Where is that number 73 come from? Cuz i never said a word like that. I honestly wanted the Heat to go to the Finals...last year. Now that you have Shaq, who has stood in front of the city of Miami with his little watergun and told them he was going to bring a championship to Miami, I really don't like the Heat.
