Bruce wuz robbed! Bruce Bowen should be the DPOY. Because no-one in the league causes as much problems to primary scoring options on a team. Nowitzki, Kobe, TMac, show me a superstar, I'll show you a guy who somehow loses his rhythm when going against the Spurs. Kobe, the best talent in the game, mentioned him first when talking about defenders. Forget BPG. Who's the best at neutralizing a teams' primary scorer? BRUCE by a mile.

Usually, that means the award should go to a big man, because they generally have the most impact on defense. I mean, Bowen isn't even the best defensive player on his own team by that standard -- Tim Duncan is. Consider also that the Pistons were 10.2 points per 100poss better defensively with Ben on the court versus off the court. On the other hand, the Spurs actually gave up 2.7 more points per 100poss with Bowen on the court. That doesn't prove Bowen is substandard on defense (he's likely getting more court time when the opposing team's best scorers are playing). Still, I think that says something about who has a greater impact.
