Trump is pissed off that it was pointed out destroying cultural and religious sites is a war crime. I highly doubt Trump has actually picked 52 cultural sites. He would not know a culturally important site if he fell over it. His idea of culture is Miss Universe pageant. But you know, it sounds really tough and he can say 6 presidents did not get vengeance for the hostage taking but he did! He's so tough! As others have said, speak loudly and carry a small stick.

Iraqi parliament is deciding to ask US troops to leave. Trump has said if they do that they will face economic sanctions like the world has never seen before (he loves using that kind of language). So a supposed ally, whose country the US invaded, whose government the US installed, decides they want US forces to leave because their sovereignty was violated, and his response is to threaten them with economic ruin. Very persuasive.

Trump is also saying, and the Republican cult echoing, that impeachment proceedings have to end. He can't be impeached because the US is in a war he started.

Trump's people are now saying that Trump did not say what he said. (destroying cultural and religious sites)

That's disingenuous and purposely misleading. Or maybe you don't know anything about Iraq. :dunno:

Iraq's Parliament is made up of a Shia majority (the crazy, rabid, bloodthirsty, beheading arm of their "ideology") and a minority of Sunnis ( the oppressed, more peaceful and rational arm of their "ideology").

The Sunnis did not participate in the vote, as the vote was in their opinion a political farce by a corrupt majority along the lines of the fake impeachment the House has chickened out on proceeding with. They know that if/when America withdraws their troops, their futures will have no hope.

As for The Hague Convention of 1954, the left's newly discovered pet outrage trigger, Iran is one of the dozen or so countries to refuse to sign it.

They are also the prime violators of it.

Destruction of cultural heritage by ISIL

Deliberate destruction and theft of cultural heritage has been conducted by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant since 2014 in Iraq, Syria, and to a lesser extent in Libya. The destruction targets various places of worship under ISIL control and ancient historical artifacts. In Iraq, between the fall of Mosul in June 2014 and February 2015, ISIL has plundered and destroyed at least 28 historical religious buildings.[34] The valuable items from some buildings were looted in order to smuggle and sell them to finance ISIL activities.[34]

Although Libya, Syria and Iraq ratified the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict in 1957, 1958 and 1967 respectively,[35] it has not been effectively enforced.

Iran and Iraq are ISIL's main contributors now that POTUS Trump has destroyed most of their oilfields and froze their financial holdings.

The Hague Convention offers no protection for many cultural sites:

To receive special protection, cultural property must also be located an adequate distance from an industrial center or location which would render it vulnerable to attack, and must not be used for military purposes.

The article is based on Obama and Bush warmongers, none of whom have ever won a war, most of whom have been fired or retired, who present the Deep State rule book for how to conduct endless wars.

Not one sentence in the article reflects Trump's thinking or his goals. Exactly opposite, in fact.

It's like asking Bill Hanzlick, Leonard Hamilton and Don Casey how Stotts should guide the Blazers to another Championship.

'Completely coincidental': Air Force launches 52 fighter jets in training exercise

FILE - In this March 14, 2014 file photo, a U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning II makes a flyby after an unveiling celebration takes place at Luke Air Force Base for the delivery of the first F-35A fighter jet, in ... more >

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah — The U.S. Air Force conducted an exercise involving the launch of 52 fighter jets from a Utah air base, officials said.

Hill Air Force Base launched the F-35A Lightning II fighters over a 10-minute period around 11 a.m. Monday, The Standard-Examiner reports.

The 388th and 419th Fighter Wings conducted the combat exercise that sent the jets west to the Utah Test and Training Range to perform various missions.

Col. Michael Ebner, the 388th vice commander, said Monday’s exercise had been planned as a “culminating event” after the two fighter wings received their full complement of fighter jets.

While the effort was intended to demonstrate an ability to conduct large-scale combat deployment in a short time, it was not in direct response to the United States’ escalating situation with Iran, Ebner said.

    “That’s completely coincidental,” Ebner said.

    https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/trump-properties-could-become-iranian-targets-190912364.html

Iran likely to hit Trump properties to hurt him personally. Actually, it would probably sabe Trump who is losing money at several properties every year. He would probably be happy to collect insurance.

On the other hand, if Iran attacks his foriegn properties, Trump cannot respond with American forces. That would represent a conflict of interest. Waiting to hear he is using government resources to protect his private properties.

The threat may send vacancies at Trump properties skyrocketing. No one wants to stay there if Iran is going to attack them.

Got a link to back up that he can't use the military if they attack his properties?

    I'll read any ridiculous thing.

I want all of our Troops out decades ago but that is just nonsense.
