No... but if we had intel that they were Planning assault in the region that’s a red line, IMO.

The administration is claiming they have that intel. The same administration that lies countless times a day. I don't believe any of it.

I'm honestly just trying to learn the potential ramifications of this and a strategic passage of oil to the west that is bordered by Iran seems pretty damn significant. If not just to give the gas companies an excuse to gouge out of fear of lack of supply (true or not). I'm not well versed in the Iran situation and just trying to learn without as much disinformation as possible re: conspiracy theorists

Don't know. Would love to know. But honestly, I don't think it's worth full scale war either way. I don't know....

I don’t either! And I’m thinking the region and the Iranian people that want freedom from the theocracy will be better of.

Yeah, we've heard this story before. Sorry, not trying to be a dick, but yeah, we've heard this story before. We are NOT liberators. We are NOT viewed as liberators. Haven't we at LEAST learned that over the last 20 years?

Fair enough. Looks like you’re off to a good start, honestly. Natural resources and control of sensitive regions is why were there. Protesters in Iraq and nuclear programs have zero to do with it, although they make for great excuses.

Iran was a very modern and progressive country in the 1960’s, even a tourist destination for vacationers from the west, if you can believe it. That was right before we overthrew their government and installed puppet dictators. We fucked that country and put them where they are today. We’ve been strangling them with sanctions ever since.

Yeah, like Iraq was? A million dead civilians later and it’s worse off then when we went in there. That’s not to mention our own people who never came back. A total waste just like a war with Iran will be, except Iran will be much worse.

I'm concerned they may retaliate by taking out trump. Now how awful would that be? :evilfire:

    Im not for liberating
Im not for nation building at all and I want our troops out of there, but if a terrorist has his sites on Americans then we need to react aggressively.
Im a libertarian that is not interested in nation building or war but if you come after me, my family or neighbors I will stand up and fight if needed. Wouldn't you?

For very different reasons Russia and Israel both want us in a military conflict with the middle east. Hopefully reports of further potential attacks by Iran is not coming from either of them.

Was Iran coming after you, your family or neighbors? They (supposedly) attacked and embassy that was highly fortified and already mostly evacuated. If I thought myself, my family and loved ones were in danger from Iran, yes, I would want to fight. I just don't think this even remotely qualifies and could potentially send us into a massive war with two unhinged leaders at the helm. I just don't see how this is good in any way.

One thing I have heard about the Iranian people is they're decent, freedom seeking, intelligent people. I get it. I just don't think this is the move and I certainly don't think it's the move with Trump. I mean, some level of diplomacy is required to be President. Not everything is a fucking cock off.
