Drazen turned into an All-Star who shot 45% from the 23' 6" 3-point line after leaving Portland. Young was waived a year and a half later, Walter Davis went back to Denver, and Reggie Smith did whatever the Reggie Smiths of the NBA do.

It was BAD FUCKING MOVE not playing Drazen. I think we win an NBA title with the 1992 45% 3-point shooting Drazen coming off of the bench, even instead of Old Man Ainge, his own weak defense, and his 14.3 playoff PER in 91-92.

We can agree to disagree, but I don't see how anyone can say how burying Drazen Petrovic on the bench was a good coaching move considering what Drazen did when given a chance.

Young was fucking terrible, and he didn't extend the series. I wonder if you read my response to Masbee's post? Care to argue with the statistics, or are we just going to stick with opinions?

You keep sayin the same things over and over as if repeating them makes them more valid.

    You are Monday morning quarterbacking.

    It is common.

    It is classic.

    It is unenlightening.

When you are in a NOW mode, you don't worry about the future, which by definition is unknown.

You have to STOP claiming that Drazen BECAME a good player later. That doesn't matter. It means little.

In the NOW of the season which you refer - Drazen:

    1) couldn't defend
    2) couldn't shoot - I mean AT ALL
    3) came into his sophmore season in the NBA NOT READY TO PLAY
    4) whined and bitched
    5) went crying to his (nasty, slimy, doesn't believe in win-win) agent

What about any of that says: put aside the drive to make a championship season and make developing the above player a priority?

I wondered who that guy was the few times I went down to LV Summer League. He was all over the place glad-handing coaches and players while generally looking like a total douche.

It's clear that Warren LeGarie overplayed his hand in the KP situation, ultimately getting his client fired. Aside from the "drive-by" comment, he was a constant source of leaks to the press over the last few months, which I'm sure didn't endear himself to the Blazers organization. His shenanigans seem to be a big part of poisoning the well in this situation.

Yep. He's as much a fixture down there as my personal favorite, Clipper Darrell:
