Nelson lit into forward Ike Diogu during a fourth-quarter timeout after catching an exchange between Diogu and Dunleavy following a basket by Kapono. "He needs to step up and have the onus on him when he makes a mistake and not blame everybody all the time," Nelson said. "He's a blamer and I just had enough of it, so he's going to have to grow up and stop that."

Thanks -- hmm, interesting. Ike said "Coach thought we were arguing, and he said that in unacceptable between teammates." I have no problem with that. People argue and blame on teams -- it's good the coach nipped it in the bud. I'm suprised he labled Ike a "blamer," but if there's one thing about Nellie he's not afraid to tell it like it is.

 

I like Nelson "telling it like it is", but is he also "listening/seeing how it is?"

He was crazy to accept this job, but I hope he gets it done by March. I just don't think this season is important enough to waste up a good draft pick opportunity and be detrimental to Ike's development in favor of small ball. It's hard to explain my mentality because I want the Warriors to win if they can really make the playoffs. But if they stop trying, I'll be mad too because they're not trying hard.

It's hard to explain. It's a catch 22 because I think a high draft pick can help us out if we're lucky this time around to land a franchise player or future all-star in a position of need. But we're not guaranteed anything unless the lottery balls fall our way, and ownership and management are doing the right things to make a good team that works. We can't sit around and collect talent and still be direction-less all these years.
