^Werent they in the same scenerio the next night and didnt even get a shot off..the play calling down the stretch sucks..I have no idea why Peitrus hardly played the way the Hornets were lighting it up
I think it was the exact same scenario and obviously not having Pietrus play defense really hurt the warriors because the warriors perimeter defense sucks without Claxton slowing down the penetration to the basket and interfering with the passes. You notice how the warriors never rotate on perimeter defense? We hold the largest opponent 3 point shooting percentage in the league. There were times where Cliff or Murphy had to be the ones to come out and contest the outside shooters when they should have been Richardson or Dunleavy's business. They are just not fast enough or aware enough to know where to be at times and basketball is all about reaction and speed. Size just makes it easier, but you have to have the reaction time and the anticipation and the Warriors perimeter defenders just lack them both. And because of this I think they are also lost on offensive plays. Maybe one of the players was out of position to free up Cliffy for the last shot. Who knows.
We need... better defense and defensive rotation, better play-calling, better offensive sets... seem to all be problems related to the coaching.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting custodianrules2:</div><div class="quote_post">We need better free throwing too.</div> That alone could have won a few of our last games. But when you are getting blown out by 20, free throws dont make a damn bit of difference.
Yeah. But all the clsoe games that we lost (I think it's 14 by less than 2) could have ALL been won if we just shot FT's better.
