<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">The Warriors just went ice cold. They had some good looks and they missed two finger rolls at a crucial time. Luck was not on our side tonight, or this season for that matter.</div> Well of course. We have a "Bartman Ball" for an owner. It needs to be destroyed to end the curse.
FREE THROWS! If I am Mussleman I am going to do a team drill on free throws and conditioning. One on one, you miss the first free throw, the whole team runs lines. Then the next player shoots. If he makes the first you dont run, you miss the 2nd, the team runs lines. You make both you dont run. There has to be some motivation to make your free throws. If they hit 70% of their free throws, they win this game.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Warriorfansnc93:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah, Murphy is a monster on the boards. Wait, WAS a monster on the boards.</div> Murphy came back injured and far from ready to play to his top shape form. If he was healthy when he played this year he wouldn't be back on the injured list so quick. I miss his rebounding and shooting already and was curious to see some of the new things he learned in the offseason. He and Cliff would have been a great tandem I think. Unfortunately, that would mean less minutes for Cardinal, which is why I don't think they will re-sign him next year if they believe that Murphy and CRob can stay healthy all through next year. Where would Cardinal go? He could be a small forward, but who would be the defensive stopper at the 3 spot? I'd rather sub in a second unit that is fast, strong, and can all D up and score some fastbreaks on a missed shot through transition offense.

If I was Musselman I'd get all the problem shooters to run back and forth down the court 20 times and make them shoot 10 free throws. If they can't hit at least 8 of them. Then they have to run 20 more times and do it over again. Soon they'll realize that free throwing is all mental. It doesn't require that much leg movement. It's about getting to relax, practicing a repetive motion you should be used to, feeling confident and letting the shooting mechanic do the rest. If you watch Boykins shoot free throws, the guy can do it with his eyes closed. That's how much he's practiced and hell he's short and plays in the NBA, so you know he's mentally tough to play confident.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting openglfx:</div><div class="quote_post">Sigh.. If we could only make 5 more freethrows.</div> If only they intentionally fouled earlier too. They were making their shots in the final seconds of the game finally. Jeez.
Are NBA players as good as people think they are? I think they are just more athletic and in better shape than the average black top player. Sometimes I think if I was more athletic I could play in the NBA.
Lets not get carried away, these guys are amazing basketball players. Some people have trouble shooting FTs are it is usually mental. You are used to running up and down the court and some people have trouble stopping and shooting a pair of FTs with no pressure. I have had problems with that at times in my life.
Well you pay to see towering freaks of a nature run the floor like a gazelle and overpower defenders. Watching dunks and seeing blocked shots is probably the best thing about basketball. Especially, warriors basketball. Foyle, Damp are great shotblockers and Richardson, Damp are great dunkers. I hope we can get Brent Barry because he's a good dunker too.

It must be all mental. I read somewhere that Shaq makes his FTs in practice, but come game time it all goes down the crapper.

Warriors' defense can't do it all <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Warriors stayed in front of their men and shadowed cutters. They pressured the ball, fought through screens and contested shots. And they forced miss after miss by the Sacramento Kings, the NBA's highest-scoring team. But when it was time to put the finishing touches on many defensive stands -- by securing a rebound -- the Warriors couldn't get it done. That's why they left Arco Arena 96-92 losers to the Kings, despite shooting 48.7 percent from the field to Sacramento's 38.3 percent. ``We did play good defense,'' said Warriors power forward Clifford Robinson, who did the best defensive job of anyone, forcing the Kings' Chris Webber into a 2-for-21 shooting night. ``But when the ball went up and bounced off the rim, we did a lot of waiting for the next guy to get it.'' </div> http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews...ors/8149817.htm
