I think we need... someone a little more polished. There's only so many minutes to go around too with the big men we have. Monty also won't play him if he lacks fundamentals. I mean the guy can barely stand Foyle and the only thing he likes about him and Pietrus is that they hustle.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting J-Rich23:</div><div class="quote_post">^He has great potential just like Arenas</div> I assume that refers to Arroyo? What elevates Arenas is he's gonna outquick 90% of the guards in the league I don't know that Arroyo has a special edge like that but he's going to be good. For a moment I thought Dalembert was getting compared to Arenas and that really confused me
^No its just that Damlbert can be a very big player in this league, he just needs somewhere to unleash that, GSW perfect place to do just that
ok.. so in the offseason either Murphy or Dunleavy is gone. Is there a way to make a move for a defensive minded 3 or 4? Yes, I officially would gamble on Artest. I'm not sure if the salaries would work, would Fisher have to be thrown in? Can someone look into that?
I don't know dude. If the rumors about the Davis trade originally being for Dunleavy were true, I don't think Mullin protected him from going to New Orleans just to trade him in the offseason. Murphy's rebounding is pretty important to the team too. I bet we keep Murphy and hold onto Dunleavy until after the 2005-06 season. Then we can either extend him or pull a sign and trade, depending on his stock at that time.
Well we can officially close this thread since the trade deadline is over. Not bad trades, it was definitely a glory day for the Warriors with the additions of Baron Davis, Skita and Rodney White for Speedy, D-Square, Najera, Flores, and a mid-late first rounder. Also: -CohanHater gets his favorite player. -The team gets a legit all-star and one of the most hard-to-find and most covetted positions of the "all-around, playmaking point guard" to run our offense. -We retain Dunleavy, Pietrus and several other Mullin type faves to figure out how to solve the mystery of filling in one of the most difficult positions to play (small forward) -We no longer have to worry about sucking horribly just to get Chris Paul or Andrew Bogut. We might end up getting Chris Taft, who is a decent "safe pick" that has potential to be a good player and we may see some early previews of Andris Biedrens later on this year to see if we can trade up or down.
Progress and production from Skita,Zarko,Biedrens,White and Pietrus over the rest of the season figures to shape the draft strategy, and there's the pingpong draw, who declares or does not and who comes up clutch in march madness. The team now has a collection of Young guys who are 6-9-plus and were not long ago picked fairly high in Rd 1,so it looks like playing the percentages that some will pan out, with whoever isn't able to show a good learning curve the one or ones not coming back. In the next 3 weeks we should get some sense of what appears likely.
Although, it would be unrecommended to keep two players in the same mold, I can see benefit to playing Skita and Zarko together at the same time. It definitely allows us to create an offense that no other team utilizes right now or could counter against unless these guys are absolute suckers in the post. Think of when quick, 7 footers are taking bigs off the dribble, shooting from beyond the arc or getting fouled on the drive. That's quite a mismatch on offense. It would be like having two Dirk Nowitzkis. Of course for those two, it goes both ways since they're horrible defenders and don't really rebound that well or play physical enough to intimidate and keep people out of the paint. But it definitely gives Monty the chance to be creative with some really tall players that have a lot of fundamentals and range.
