The Warriors selected UCLA freshman forward Kevon Looney with the No. 30 overall pick in the NBA draft Thursday — a move that could be viewed as a precursor to looming transactions with reserve forwards David Lee and Marreese Speights. The team entertained trade offers for Lee and his nearly $15.5 million 2015-16 salary leading up to the draft and has to decide whether to exercise a $3.8 million option to keep Speights, but general manager Bob Myers said the pick doesn’t necessarily foreshadow a move with either player. Myers said most of his discussions Thursday were about moving back in the draft or taking cash and future second-rounders for the final pick in the first round. Instead, the Warriors chose Looney, who was projected to be a mid-first-round choice and was one of 19 prospects invited to the draft in Brooklyn. - See more at: http://www.sfgate.com/warriors/article/Warriors-use-No-30-pick-to-add-UCLA-s-Looney-6350640.php
