But Artest is one of the few defenders in the NBA that can make life uncomfortable for Baron in the lane. That's just the impression I had -- but I wasn't at the game like you.</div> In the first game against the King's, Artest said in the post game interview that he should have probably guarded Baron the whole night (when Baron had like 36 pts). Luckily Baron was effective without scoring.
http://www.derrickpapp.com/clips/warriors/.../1212/kings.avi Some highlights from the game! Baron's dime to Dunleavy at the end of the clip was as clean as it gets. Baron has amazing court vision.
He sure does. Boy, when he's on, he's on! I think my favorite part about tonight was that Baron didn't shoot a single ill-advised shot (that I saw). He had one fade-away jumper but it was with the shot-clock expiring. Everything else was pretty much in the context of the natural offense. Even on the three he hit early on -- it was a great set-up pass from the paint (as Fitz said, "work inside out to get open shots") and when he caught it it was ready to go in. Now that was one three Baron should definately have taken! When they're in the flow of the offense, catch-n-shoot off good passes, you can't go wrong. With good shots in the flow, even misses offer good chances for rebounds because your teammates know what's coming and they've already gotten in position to crash the board or anticipate the bounce. They're with you on the shot. One-on-one play takes your teammates out of the game in more than one way, and good team play can do so much more than just build comradery or make things look good. Tonight was a clear example, IMO.
Wow, I wish I saw this game. I was too busy to watch... Judging from the boxscores, I think we won because we were without Murphy, correct? I know we shouldn't blame one person for our defensive problems and lack of toughness inside, but hell, I'm going to anyway! Murphy's fault! The "team" is better without him! that's probably like the third game where we've done really well when Murphy was out hurt with something. Maybe for the last three years all he has been doing was padding stats and letting other Warriors suffer the foul trouble at the rim. LOL.
I think a good idea on 3's...If the team is hitting 55% of them...good idea. If the team is hitting 25% bad idea. We had 2 guys get 10+ boards. That is major. We had a bunch of guys score 20+. We had 3 FORWARDS combine for about 70...and where was the vaunted Artest D all the while that happened? If we had J Rich,Murph,Ike ,Zarko...all the better, and yet this matchup-speed killed.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">We had 3 FORWARDS combine for about 70...and where was the vaunted Artest D all the while that happened?</div> I think his excuse was that he needed to learn guard both Baron and Barnes at the same time.
