Of course, if they could find somebody to take Lin, that would do it. I'm not a Lin hater but he doesn't work well with Harden, and Beverley made him expendable.

(Ironically, he'd probably do best reunited with D'Antoni... on the Lakers.)

Why on earth would Houston trade Parsons? He's got one of the best-value contracts in the league. (So much so he just fired the agent who negotiated it.)

If you read the entire thread, I stated that in order for us to help them facilitate this trade, I'd require them to give us Parsons (which they won't and was more of just being greedy, but feel that not many teams would be willing to take on his 3rd year @ 14 mill)

What does that have to do with what the Lakers had last year? Kobe was the best SG in the league (arguably the best player) and the Lakers were still under .500 for most of the year. Howard's a shell of what he used to be pre-injury. I don't think anybody needs to fear him going to the Rockets anymore than they should fear him on the Lakers last year.

"you" might require them to give us Parsons but Morey would laugh at you, Asik is a very valuable commodity around the league and has a reassonable contract, Morey will have NO problem trading him for capspace AND assets, he does not have to give up anything else

I doubt GM's think along the lines of what will happen if other teams get players more than they want to look at ways to get their own team better.

This angle makes me think GS has a decent shot of getting him if he doesn't return to LAL. Bogut, Biedrins, Jefferson are expirings, as are Landry and Rush should they opt in to the last years of their deal. Plus they've got some decent prospects to throw in between Barnes, Klay, Festus, Draymond, and a big white Euro they took last year who did well in the ACB league. Plus they can trade futures 1sts now that Utah is finally getting their first round pick.

Bogut, one of Klay/Barnes, and then some combination of lesser prospects and other expirings seems like a decent deal for LAL. They can still be competitive adding a starting level 5 and 2/3 with potential plus some other assets and then get a lot of money off the books for the 2014 offseason. They could still be competitive with that roster and have a ton of money off the books in 2014. Or if all goes to shit they can shut down Bogut, tell Kobe to just take the whole year off, and tank.

Nash was out. Dwight (admittedly) was not game ready or ready to return from hid injury. Pau was out a decent part of the season. Blake missed time... as I mentioned before, the system was not Dwight friendly. Everyone knows Harden is a better playmaker/passer than Kobe.

Also, they barely even had time to practice with each other due tp Dwight s injury.

So, yeah, I doubt last season will be replicated since you know..all those reasons above..
