Ovechkin celebrates every goddamn goal he scores at the garden like he has just won the stanley cup. Really fucking annoying. The Rangers usually just respond by elevating their game and scoring a bunch of goals in his face.

The over the top celebration of every goal is quite absurd.

The more I watch Yandle on PP, the more I realize he wont be a difference maker. He just does not have a good shot. Too many passers, not enough good shooters from the point.

At the moment, defense isn't playing well in front either goalie.

might just as well forfeit the rest of the games rather than watching these embarrassing efforts from some players.

That being said. I do not want the Rangers to get the 1 seed. Too much pressure and they might have to face Boston. Let Montreal do that.

Off our game right now. Is what it is. I think we'll finish 2nd in the East behind Montreal, and I am perfectly fine with that. Maybe 3rd or 4th in the NHL.

Very tough two games coming up at Peg and at Minny. We don't play much better and we'll be on a 4 game losing streak (5 of 6).

Just what I did not want to happen. But.......
most likely a down period, considering the lackadaisical
efforts at Boston and home vs Washington.
Hey, AV and team. Too much celebrating.
    You have not won anything.

It's going to happen. We weren't going to win every game. We had been on such a crazy roll for months until the King game. Law of averages said we were going to hit a rough handful of games. Not a shock to me it happened after we pretty much locked up the division after locking up a playoff spot.

We need 3 wins in our last 7 to lock up the division for sure. With two against NJ and Ottawa and CBJ at home I think we'll be okay. Plus Pitt/NYI will both lose a game or two as well.

The Pens max is 107. The Isles max is 105. So that means 107 is really our magic number since it is unlikely the Pens make up 5 ROW's on us. But worst case the magic number is 108. So 7 points needed as I mentioned. The Pens won't win every game, so if they lose only 1 game we'll need 5 points out of 14 remaining. We will get it, but like I said it may go down to game 80 or 81.

Agree 100% w Dump that I don't want Boston. If the Bruins get the 8 seed I don't want them period. Maybe that is the silver lining to the recent slump

I would welcome getting Boston. To me we are supposed to be a very good team. A clear fav in the East. We play who we have to play. If we cannot beat Boston then it is very unlikely we'll win the cup anyway. So I have no issue getting Boston.

With that said I expect the Habs to be the 1 seed and play Boston if they get in, so I don't think we'll get them. To me it is looking more and more like the Caps in round 1. Pens/Isles as the other Met series.

Don't agree Chuck. Playoff series in sports sometimes sometimes come down to match ups vs who is the better team. Today aside I would rather play Caps. We can beat both but Boston is a tougher out then people think....if they get in.

I agree it is all about matchups in the playoffs, no doubt. I also think I would rather play the Caps, but it's a toss-up to me.

OV and that awesome PP or Boston which is not a big time team this season. It is close to me. And either way we should beat both teams in the playoffs IF we think we're a SC team.

And if we lost to Boston in the 1st round we were not winning the cup anyway. So it will be what it will be.

My point is in the NHL playoffs there are no gimme series anymore. So if we get the Caps or the Bruins it won't be easy. I "rather" play the Caps, but either way we need to beat both of those teams if we think we are a legit SC team.

Isles and Pens 95 points each. 38 ROW's each. 5 games left for the Isles. 6 games left for the Pens.

    Isles max = 105 points and 43 ROW's.
Pens max is 107 points and 44 ROW's.

Right now we have 101 points and 43 ROW's with 7 games left.

Since we will have the ROW TB (unless we only win 1 game in regulation out of our last 7 and the Pens win out all in regulation...then we'd be tied in ROW's with Pitt). That means we need any combo of 6 points and we'll clinch the Met over the Pens (any combo of 4 points and we clinch over the Isles).

With two against NJ, and home games against the Sens and BJ's we should get those 6 points. Plus the Isles and Pens play once as well, which means one team will miss out on at least 1 point, hopefully 2.

From there I will be fine with 2nd in the East behind Montreal only.

Boston beats like a drum on faceoffs. Let Montreal have them.
