He's a terrible NBA player. That's why he hasn't been signed.

Career PER of 7.1, and he's played 12 years in the NBA? He's an afterthought at 34 years-old, which why I'm sure he came out of the closet. He gets his book sales, and none of the scrutiny that comes with continuing to play.

The MLS soccer player who is 25 and is planning a comeback is frankly a bigger story, IMO, and I'd like to see him get attention, since he was actually a top-level player.

Seriously. The Bulls need a 13th player, and the equally awful Marcus Camby chose the Rockets over the Bulls.

Thibs is talking about playing Noah fewer minutes this season. His backup is Nazr Mohammed who played < 700 minutes last season. Thibs actually played Boozer at C a lot.

He's a big body. That's why he's been in the league 12 years. He's a terrible player, though. Somebody to sit on the inactive roster, like a Juwan Howard but 6 years younger, at this point.

If he gets signed, his being gay isn't going to have anything to do with it.

Um how do you know that? A lot of gay people, including me, aren't interested in anal sex. And of those who like anal sex, not all of them are bottoms. That's so offensive, Mick. And I like you.

It was one of the most bigoted posts I've read on this board, actually. Much more offensive, in terms of stereotypes, than anything else I've read here recently. The caveat is that Zags may actually be denying his true self, which is understandable.

I liked Mick better when he was Chip Kelly. I looooove Chip but I definitely don't want him up my ass.

Robbie Rogers, and he already made his comeback. Signed with LA Galaxy couple months ago

Nice! Didn't know he had actually signed. Outside of the Timbers, I'm more of a fan of EPL, La Liga, and national teams. I'm really trying to get into MLS, though.

Yeah it wasn't as big of news as you had originally hoped for in your original post.

About the MLS, it's getting better. I love the timbers, but I usually don't watch many other MLS games. Same for La liga, I love RM but don't watch many other teams play. EPL is different. I don't have a favorite team, and I can watch any of them play, for some reason. National teams I love to watch too

I wonder if teams don't want to deal with the attention of hiring a gay player. I'm sure he would get a deal if he was a rotational player but when you're talking about a 14th man on the roster, a postion that teams often don't hire anyways, well they may not want to deal with the media attention. Kind of like hiring a religious Tim Tebow, it has to be the right locker room that can handle the questions. With Jason its hard to know, he might have been out of a job this year even if he stayed in the closet. If he got a contract I'm sure some people would think it was because he is gay.

Perhaps if an NBA team has a murderer they can hire Jason to change the conversation?

I would not be surprised if he landed with the Clips. He has a good relationship with Doc Rivers. They could use a backup. And they have enough stars and story lines so he would not become THE story. Robbie Rogers found that for about 2 weeks he was "the gay soccer player" and after that he was just a soccer player. Admittedly NBA is bigger in this country than soccer but I think Collins will have the same experience.
