Over the last 40 years things have changed quite a bit a number of times. Sorry. I just don't get the need to tell you all of them.

I believe Olshey is always trying to swing for the fences. It just hasn't worked out and most of the time it didn't have anything to do with Portland as a destination city. Also, it seems a team wanting a championship needs more than three really good players so trading CJ would not be helpful.

None of what the OP was helpful. It's kneejerk, like it is every year.

    Patience is lost on some.

I too am a little frustrated/sad that we're entering Dame's prime and the current outlook in the NBA is not too great.

But to put things in perspective, the Thunder have the reigning MVP. They added two superstars in one summer..... and they're MAYBE the second best team in the west. They're vying with the Spurs and maybe the Rockets.

When they added Garnett and Ray Allen to Paul Pierce - championship.

When LeBron joined Wade and Bosh - championship.

Melo and Paul George just joined Russell Westbrook and they might not even make it to the Finals. That's how crazy the west is right now. So yes, it sucks that Dame is entering his prime and the outlook is not so good, but short of bringing in LeBron, I don't see much we could have done this summer. I would have LOVED to have added George and Anthony, and maybe in some bizarro world we could have had both, but even then I'm not sure we could beat the Warriors.

We could make the Finals, if we moved to Maine. The conferences are so unbalanced, Silver has to be wondering what to do.

Can we pretend to move to Maine?

The NW division wouldn't get any wackier if we moved to Maine and traded divisions with Milwaukee. I say let's do it.

I wouldn't have a problem if we could like.... split time between Portland, OR and Portland, Maine if it meant we could play in the East.

Shocker. Tunchi doesn't mind if Lillard leaves.
    Just plain shocked.

Not hard--just eliminate the geographical conference alignment like MLB and NFL have done.

Sounds like someone overdosed on antibiotics and is experiencing whatever the opposite of Nurkic fever is.

Not a big deal for me, when the time comes... another bum can take the cardboard box that I live in, snag the cell phone that I found/am using as we speak, & literally take the clothes off my back & I'm done checking out!:klingon::tongue:

It's too bad Zaza plays for GSW. A couple "hard closeouts" on Curry and Durant and suddenly the Warriors are very beatable.

    Ya'll are crazy.

Poster C gets annoyed at poster X's thread. Poster C posts that he is annoyed and that this is dumb.

Poster C posts his own thread about something else about the team. Poster X gets annoyed and posts that he or she is annoyed.

    Poster C and X argue.

    Flush, rinse, repeat.

I think OP has a decent discussion that is getting us to talk about basketball, regardless of if I agree with him or not.
