Just because you think LeBron is playing better ball than Kobe, doesn't make their team better than ours. And I don't think LeBron is playing better than Kobe anymore, I think Kobe has taken over that front runner for MVP. He has been playing some incredible ball, and he out played LeBron in our matchup. Lakers 1 Cavaliers 0 I don't see how you can say they are better than us when we beat them convincingly.
Best record in the league. Has beaten both the Celtics and the Cavaliers, and has played some awesome defense so far. Nod to Kobe. But with the media over Bron's nuts, it'll go to Bron.
I thought it was funny because he previously said, "As a true Lakers fan, does it bother you that Brian ditched the Sixers and jumped on your bandwagon?" Then followed up with, "As an English-speaking person..." It kinda caught me by surprise. I can comprehend your English though.
I'd personally give it to Kobe. His numbers are really just as impressive as LeBron's...plus he's beaten him in the head-to-head...also beat the Celtics, and plays in the tougher conference. You can argue the latter part for LeBron, but aside from the top 3, the East is pretty weak. There's still going to be a sub-.500 team make the playoffs, while out West a 45+ win team will miss the playoffs.
I give LeBron the edge because when he struggles to score he's still been able to contribute in other ways for his team to win. He's been more consistent at it for the 1st half of the season. Kobe has closed the gap though during this past month and Bynum appears to be the main beneficiary of it.
It doesn't matter if LeBron is the MVP or not, we stomped the shit out of them and they haven't done jack as a team yet, whereas we have actually improved our roster.
I don't have to remember any titles for them to count EHL. As far as I know the Lakers won 5 titles before even moving out to LA and you count them just as same as you count the ones won in LA. You're just hurt that we beat the crap out of your team last june to the point that it looked like a professional team playing a high school team filled with juniors (sasha, odom, walton = soft). Now they've beaten us in one game, which proves nothing, and here you are (together with majority of other laker fans) saying that you're the best in the world and that no team comes near the Lakers. And lastly yeah Truth hurts, he showed it last year by beating the Lakers. lol
meh all this bickering is a moot point at this time of the year. The Celtics are the defending champs until they lose in the playoffs. That may or may not be this year. Wins during the regular season mean little especially 6 months prior to them meeting. The Celtics won 4 games out of 6 last year when it counted and only if the Lakers can return the favor should Lakers fans get their hopes up IMO. When people use the arguement about the West being tougher, they never seem to mention that 6 of the 7 worst teams play in the same conference too. Beyond the Cavs, C's and Magic, there's more parity in the East. I'd say the West is slightly, not overwhelmingly better.
The West may have some weak teams in it, but the East is very top heavy. After Boston, Cleveland, Orlando and MAYBE Atlanta, the quality of the teams drops off extensively. The West, on the other hand, have 9 teams that are going to vie for a 50 win season..the East will have 4 teams do that, at most. Also, to the credit of the West, some of those garbage teams have started to play better as of late. The TWolves have been the best team in the NBA since the turn of the new year, the Thunder have been playing .500 basketball as of late, and the Warriors have played tough as well, and just got their franchise player back.
I guess they both have their strong points. The bottom of the West really is essentially the bottom of the NBA. Those lottery teams might be showing signs of improvement, but they're still severely lacking in talent and experience. Of course, the East has far fewer legitimate contenders at the top than the West. The gap's closer than its been in years, IMO.
Exactly Chutney. A few years ago you would have 5 or 6 teams in the West contending for the championship while only 2 (maybe 3) from the East. Things have changed.
Teams like the Bulls or Lakers have multiple titles and dynasties in the Modern era that are much more impressive. I do think that is a valid point.
