What are the chances of an NHL team coming to Portland and if so, any idea what would happen to the Winterhawks? Does the team know what the # (or %) of fans who don't have access to CSN is? If the All Star Game ever comes to Portland (we're not holding our breath), do you know what kind of say you or the team would have in it? I.E., not just being an commercial for Sprite and Kia (etc).
How do you operate differently in Portland from in Los Angeles? Does everyone seem like a hick? What will you do about all the people who park many blocks from Moda to get free parking? How about Blazer patrol cars to spot all those leeches? Now that you've made the team profitable, have you started the next stage of finding buyers? Is McGowan a Scottish name? Are you Scotch?
Give me some examples of pressure the Blazers organization is putting on their TV partner CSNW to make themselves available on DirecTV and Dish Network. When was the last time you met with CSNW to discuss resolving this ridiculous situation?
Why have The Blazers abandoned rural Oregon fans? Most can't get Comcast, I never see the team promoted in the local media anymore (Beautiful Central Oregon in my case), and they no longer play pre-season games here once a year like they used to. That was a big deal for the fans. When I moved here from the Portland area 12 years ago The Blazers were a visible and talked-about part of the community. Now they're not, to put it plainly. Why not?
Thanks for the answer. But I would still like the question asked to Chris and in almost the same format I presented it in.
What is the official team procedure for vetting scalpers before rookie fans are forced to trust them out in the dark cold nights? Should a fan demand to see the Blazer Scalper ID card? Should the fan always turn down the first offer and counteroffer? What is the team doing to improve the fan's scalping experience?
Could the Stampede ever move closer to the Portland area? Why did the team choose the rip city alternates to become the sleeved jersey next year? Why not create a new design for the sleeved jerseys? Are there any plans to introduce a new set of alt uniforms?
It's pretty obvious that you inherited a mess with the current Blazer TV deal. With that finally coming to an end in a few years what can we expect from the next TV deal. What will you do to make it easier for fans to watch games?
I read that the Blazers are switching over to Ticketmaster next season. They have a reputation for service high fees. How will this change benefit the fans and what kind of fees should we expect to see?
Not really a questions, just want to throw this out there. LED flat panel basketball court. Playing the game on a giant flat panel screen would be one of the greatest innovations ever! You know some team will eventually do it, why not be the first.
Yes and put shit loads of ads under the players feet because we aren't bombarded with nearly enough ads
EVEN BETTER! a TOUCH screen court that can ACTUALLY tell if that 3 pointer was on the line! although eventually Adam Silver will start getting the touch screen court to shift the line slightly to favor his LA/NYC monoplies
That's actually a pretty great idea! I wonder if it could be programmed to detect traveling, too? That'd be hard since the ball doesn't actually need to hit the floor before you lift your pivot. But maybe if all players wore a ring on each hand that could tell if the ball was still touching either hand? But the 3-point idea could also be applied to out-of-bounds. Couple that with the ring-sensors and you could know for certain who the last player was to touch the ball before it went out of bounds...or whether a player is touching the ball while out of bounds. This could decrease the burden on the refs so they can more closely focus on other parts of the game.
