    Further proof that Aminu was a great signing especially at the price we got him!

    Aminu 7.5 Vonleh 2.65 Henderson 6 that is a little bit more than Batum's 12.3 but I see the point you were aiming at.

    Aminu probably makes more money if he waits a few hours longer....

    I was thinking the same. The deal is a fair one based on his skills and production, but I am sure he regretting it now. Can he get out of it?

    Yes he could, he would look a huge dick but the deal is only verbal to July 9.

    Yeah, but it's extremely poor form. Someone did something like that a year or two ago. Looks terrible on the player and the agent. I suspect he knows he'll more than make up for it if he performs, as he'll be a FA at 28 again.

    As some others posted earlier Kevin Pelton calculated Aminu value over the next three years at $34 million or over $11 million per season. Since we got him for less and one year longer its projected as us underpaying him. With his actual cost being $7.5 million per season Neil got a very smart deal.

    Link to Peltons ESPN insider article

    But what I found even more interesting was;

    Brook Lopez has a projected value of $33 million yet he signed for $20 million per year.
    Trisitan Thompson projected $34 million value signed for $16 million per year.
    Omer Asik projected value of $34 million likely signs for much more than Aminu
    Iman Shumpert projected value of $34 million signed for $10 million per year
    Thaddeus Young projected value of $35 million signed for $12.5 million per year

    So by Peltons analytics, even with Aminu seemingly unimpressive simple statistics he could be one of the steals of free agency.

    I take it you have insider @Draco ? What is Monroe's value? I have to think Carroll was also overpaid right? And are there any other under the radar guys like Aminu that probably don't get paid what Pelton thinks they should?

    Interesting that they have LMA and Monroe as tied in value the next 3 years. And why would RPM undervalue LMA but not some other players?

    Because his long jumpers have a very positive effect on a teams offense just the same as a 3 pointer but the RPM statistical model doesn't capture it. Marc Gasol is similar.

    Pelton's 3-year projections say that Farouq is no bargain.

    20/33=61%
    16/34=47%
    >(7.5 x 3)/34=>66%
    10/34=29%
    12.5/35=36%
    (7.5/year x 3)/34=66% Farouq

    it's projected out 3 years, so for example,
    Lopez: $33 worth/ (3x$20) = 55% value or 1/.55 - 1 = 81.8% overpaid
    Aminu comes out UNDERpaid.

    I saw that and edited while you posted. The mail crossed. He's still not a big steal as claimed, compared to the 5-player mix that was listed.

    Now I edited it again to correct Asik. Anyway, Farouq is still 2nd-highest in the group.
