Okay, I calculated it your way and now, Farouq is the best bargain. (20x3)/33=1.82 (16x3)/34=1.41 >(7.5x3)/34=>.66 (10x3)/34=.88 (12.5x3)35=1.07 (7.5x3)/34=.66 But I question Pelton. For the next 3 years, he says Farouq (34) is worth more than Brook Lopez (33), equal to Tristan, Asik, and Shumpert (all 34), and only 1 below Thaddeus (35). I guess that's what threw me off. Pelton's projections don't make sense.
Last night, Asik got $12 million per year (5 years, Pelicans). His line changes from >(7.5x3)/34=>.66 to (12x3)/34=1.06 Pelton's system says that Farouk should be paid the same as Asik and Brook Lopez. The system's 15 seconds of fame are up; I'll stop figuring it out. I hope he deep-sixes it.
Interesting that Aminu, although is listed under 6'8" in bare feet, has the longest standing reach on the team. (at 9'05")
So he's like if you combined T-Rob and Will Barton into a single player, and had him spend his entire life perfecting the block on Corey Brewer.
He's gonna end up being a bargain. I dont really care about his shot because on defense he's going to lock it up. Defensively he is nic batum if nic batum hustled every night.
Great description, though I do want him to work on his shooting. His FT% started out at a very respectable .773 his rookie year and has dropped off a fair bit.
As Sefko said, the Mavs took him away a bit from his strengths. He can hit the corner '3' or a mid-range jumper if you leave him open but his strength is attacking the rim...HARD!
Shot Charts and Splits from Aminu's two most successful seasons with New Orleans. 2013-14 Season http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/aminual01/shooting/2014/ 2012-13 Season http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/aminual01/shooting/2013/ His strengths lie inside the key.
Unless the Blazers turn into a running team, his value on offense is very limited. Because of his hot streak in a few play-off games, I'm afraid people are going to be disappointed. His value is in his defense and his great motor.
I love him simply because of the number times he embarrassed Harden in that video. Seriously, there's at least five or six really good clips were he just punks Harden.
If I had to rate players on 5 minute youtube clips only, he would be MVP level. That video makes him look like Drexler, Pippen and Jordan all in one.
No, he's just Pippen I understand what your're saying, but since the Bayless wins summer league MVP thing, I have been more discerning about video compilations. Here's what I see: defensive plays that others cannot make, someone who plays hard, someone who doesn't give up on plays. That's why I am excited about this and other videos about him I have seen. p.s. That's why I'm not that high on Diez, his videos look great until you realize he's mostly just catching and shooting. His "defense" is him getting pushed under the basket and making a last second play on the ball.
