What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

Bridges played some #1 option basketball in Phoenix too when Booker was hurt.

    * I think Portland has probably had some substantive discussions with Toronto about Siakam/#3. There would have had to have been more involved because Siakam isn't worth a 3rd pick, not on an expiring contract. I don't think the Blazers will get anywhere if they withdraw the 3 from Siakam talks though. Maybe they should be out but he's not as bad an option as some are claiming

    * I know people like to imagine the Blazers landing two players like Bridges and Siakam. I just think that's ridiculously overvaluing Simons and Nurkic

Yeah I would do that. You want defense....you get two good ones.
Dame, Sharpe, Bridges, Simmons, and a center by committee.
4 guys who can handle the ball as well.

What is Siakam worth realistically? We have already established that nobody thinks he's worth the #3. So what's his value?

Similarly, what is Bridges value? Are they demanding Simons, or is the 3rd pick really the key component of a trade with the Nets? So really aren't we just talking about filler at this point?

Simons is a nice young player and ideally we could free up a couple future picks for Siakam. To me that's fair value.

If Scoot is there at 3 and the Nets really want him this is the deal they should have to take.

I think the chances Simmons can rehab is game are pretty low, especially with his back issue. But if he somehow could get back close to what he was before the playoff disaster, Porland could make some noise

and if he can't, his contract conveniently expires a year before Bridges could become UFA; and at the same time Bridges can sign an extension

I'd still like to find a way to steal Claxton too, but that's being greedy I guess

And then if you can flip Simons/future picks for Siakam, you're in like Flynn.

If Cronin can somehow turn Simons/Nurk/#3 and filler into Bridges/Siakam/Claxton I would officially declare that he's not a bad GM!

I don’t understand the Siakam hate….he’s probably the second best player that’s been mentioned behind jaylen brown.
    PS is really talented

Age and contract are the main issues.

    let's start with X.

    X= 1

Wood/Hart were both worth cap + late 1sts.

I think a good young player is worth 2 firsts and cap.

If you're Toronto you want to replace him with a younger player 'and' more. Young player and 3 future firsts. Remove one future first because he's expiring, older and because his cap hit is about to go up. = a young player and 2 future firsts?

(I have no idea. This is seriously why the Rudy Gobert trade screwed the pooch.)

Exactly. So Simons/2 future firsts. That's exactly what I was proposing.

No doubt I like your Bridges-Claxton scenario better, I just doubt the Nets do.
As for Siakam.....his age is not an issue. He is only 2 years older than Bridges. He has at least another 4 years in his prime.
The only issue I see is resigning him, and yes that is a huge one.

I think their is no sense to draft Scoot at 3 if the plan is for Lillard to still be here. They play the same position and obviously Scoot is not gonna start anytime soon. Dame has already said doesn't want to play with a bunch of youngsters, so not sure how much he would buy in to letting Scoot and Sharpe get better and not really be a contender in the meantime. Looking at Scoot's numbers, imo he is an incredible playmaker, but shot still needs work.

I think Lillard would prefer to stay in Portland, if and its a big if, he can get some help around him not just more projects if you will. He also has done a ton for this franchise and deserves the right imo to say well go ahead and trade me if you are not going to get us any better.

I'm not a trade expert by any means, but maybe something like trading Dame to Miami for Herro, Robinson, and some good picks? You are not going to get like for like talent wise anyway in this kind of trade, so I think that would be good value.

We are in a very sticky, uncomfortable situation with the whole thing and the draft is almost upon us.

Trade Dame or keep him; I am ambivalent at this point, just want it resolved so we can start roster planning if you will for 23/24.
