What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

Which guy? No one is insulting anyone. Nate Jones is not a fan, he's one of Dame's agents.

That woud be an interesting conversation. My guess is your stance would soften after some discourse.

The guy that he is responding to.

Sure seems like he’s calling people who want to trade Dame “mad losers” or maybe I’m reading it wrong.

Are you concerned about what someone with the twitter handle @hot_hall_dogway is saying? Because Nate didn't attack anyones intelligence in that tweet.

You don’t know me very well

I love debate. If Dame was open to an actual discussion, I would love to have it. I’m capable of arguing either side of the debate though.

You're full of it. I doubt the cupboard would be totally bare. There are other players (FA's , potential added picks by trade) to continue to add talent. And i never ,ONCE, mentioned pick swaps. And if Ant is as good as some think, then it won't take as many picks to acquire personnel that can make an immediate impact. Ant is real good.

Because I haven't seen you have a strong in-person debate with a top 75 NBA player, I can't really give you the benefit of the doubt. It's a little different than on a message board.

I do agree that you are capable of talking out of both sides of your mouth!

well, I agree with WM that Brown would not agree to a S&T to Portland if Dame was gone. I'm also inclined to believe he has no interest in being on the west coast

but more than that is this: Brown is NOT a #1 option. He doesn't have the wide range of talent to be a #1 on a contender in my view. This last season, he was tied for 48th in the NBA in PER (with Desmond Bane) among the 190 qualified players; 107th in TS% (out of 198); 113th in FT rate; 81st in assist rate. Plus he was 103rd in winshares/48 and 67th in BPM while playing on the team with the 2nd best record

Dame is at least one tier better. While Brown was 48th in PER, Dame was 8th. And while Brown was 103rd in winshares/48, Dame was 9th; and when Brown was 67th in BPM, Dame was again 9th. And this happened while Brown was playing on a team that had 24 more wins to divvy up for winshares and a 10.5 higher point-differential to divvy up for BPM. Going by winshares, take away Brown from Boston and the Celts have 52 wins. Take away Dame from Portland and they have 24 wins

and by the way, Brown is not a good 3 point shooter. He only shot 33.5% this season and is a career 36.5% shooter

why am I comparing Dame to Brown. To start with it's to show that Dame is a much better player; a legitimate 1st option. But here's the thing, Brown has made no bones about wanting a max contract on his next deal. A max for him would be something like a 59M/year deal for 5 years. Dame's deal(s) work out to 56M/year for 4 years. Yet, a big reason why people want Dame traded is because of his salaries. Well, Brown may very well have higher salaries and never be as good as Dame

and that returns to if Brown would agree to a S&T to Portland. If he simply extends in Boston his max would be over 70M more than if he agreed to a S&T. And if he refuses a S&T (very likely), and simply waits to sign a new deal in 2024, he could be getting 90M more than a S&T deal this summer

He gave me the side eye and started cracking up! HA! Cause I asked him where he thought he was going. He said 100% his agent said he was going to Sac. Said it was his best pre draft workout.
I was telling him how much I loved those other PGs....he said it was only because I didn't see him play in college and couldn't argue. But he said his agent tried to set up group workouts with Rivers and Marshall and they declined every time.

I have spoken with plenty of NBA players in my time. It would depend on whether dame was willing to have an open and honest discussion.

What were Michael Jordan’s numbers against college players? What we’re Luka’s numbers against lesser competition in Europe?
