The good news gets worse with every passing year because we've seen how Dame/CJ matchup over the last few years against the rest of the league. The team only gets better if the rest of the team significant improves and somebody else develops into a star.

The general feeling with other fans around the league is that we will keep Dame/CJ because we are Portland and there are few options available. Setting reset would just start a long process that could put us right back here in five years.

I honestly think we use the deadline this year to shed even one bad contract.... then it's worth it. Use some decent players if you have to bait another team, but get in as good a position as you can for another one or two years down the road. By that time Collins will be older and we might get lucky on draft pick or two.
