Quick: fifth metatarsal. Not sure if it'll be operated on or just rested.

    Looking at 6-8 weeks minimum.

ok. as long as he's back before the end of the year, I'm ok with this. It opens up the rotation a bit and lets us see what other guys can do.

It happened in the 2nd quarter and he played on it. Possibly not as bad as originally thought. Crossing fingers.

    Wow...get out of my head.

Ike straight up for JJ. Move Outlaw to the backup 4...Roy and Batum play more minutes at the 3.

I was thinking with Oden in the middle commanding a double team and making the defense collaspe. . . this was a great opportunity for Webster. That and he sure did groove with Rudy in that first game.

Not good news at all . . . but I feel for Webster more than anyone. Even if he comes back, isn' t this a injury that lingers until you can geive it a lot of rest. Foot injuries suck!

I am surprised, too. They have it on channel 179, Comcast Sportsnet. It's great to watch/listen to Blazers news.

By the way: Quick makes it sound like 6-8 weeks isn't necessarily a "minimum". It sounds like it's pretty firm.

Two months isn't really that brutal, if that's all it is.

If he's back for the Christmas stretch of 6 home games, that'll be ok. Our first stretch was rough, but starting with that home stretch of games in late December we have to be making hay.

So rare to have Portland sports infiltrate the Seattle market. Cool.....I guess!? Well, cool for you at least. God knows we get plenty of Seattle sports down here.

    Tonight's starting lineup

    Bayless
    Rudy
    Outlaw
    Aldridge
    Oden

Brandon is OUT tonight for rest only.

Talk of Brandon sliding to the SF and Rudy starting at SG while Webster is out. Now THAT is an exciting starting lineup.

Well, Seattle has had everything that Portland has had, plus some. Baseball and football get crammed down Portland's throat... now that there's no NBA here? Hopefully I get to see more Blazers coverage. :)

Not to mention all the Seattle connections within the Blazers organization now. Makes sense.

Wow this is really lame. I was looking forward to Web having a breakout year. He was looking really good last night. Six to eight weeks is a lifetime when you're trying to show what you can do.

One goes down another rises. Not very good news for Martell, and his outside shooting was going to be pretty important (and damn he looked really aggressive last night), but as mentioned above this frees up more opportunities for Rudy and Travis ... Batum too I suppose?

    Hope he gets well soon.

Horrible news but if it's just 8 weeks, I'm totally okay with it. Does this give way to start Rudy?

Roy gives up a ton of height length and weight to the average NBA 3, Rudy even more. Of course there will be times when the other team goes small or has a smaller SF, but I'll stick by my first post in thinking that with MW out Batum gets the majority of the backup minutes at 3

A real bummer for him, but, at least, if we are going to lose a starter for parts of the season - he is the one that is easiest to replace.

Hope he recovers quickly and hopefully we will see the 3 guard lineup with either Brandon or Rudy at the 3 and maybe a bit more of Batum (who is actually a pleasant surprise so far).

    Eff.

Was it a stress fracture or not? If it is, then that would imply it had been a more chronic injury than just something that occurred in the 2nd and he kept playing on.

Webster, Blake, Frye.....all our vaunted depth sure went south in a big hurry! I am tempted to turn off the TV and the computer and just go hide for the next 3 months. :shitstorm::grim::smiley-grom:
